I have another question! Last year we arrived before marathon weekend, and we were able to see a lot of the decorations before they were taken down (Oh I can't wait to see the tree at AKV when we arrive!)- last year we arrived just one day too late to see the lights on the castle. Last year the last night was the sunday after new years. Assuming that is the same this year, I'd like to try to see that- and it's our arrival day, the sunday after new years.

Because of our schedule, I wasn't planning on doing parks the first 5 days of our trip (vow renewal happening) and with it being such a long trip, I don't want to start my tickets that early- and if I were to buy the ticket for just one day, it's 80 bucks just to see the lights! Is that worth it? Do they do anything special when they turn them on so you'd want to be in the park to see it? I'm also wondering if it's the last night there, if there is anything going on at the other parks I might want to try to see as well- is there a schedule somewhere for this yet?

Also I'm wondering if anyone knows of a place I might be able to see them well, but not go in the parks? I was thinking maybe there is a good restaurant I could make ressies at that night- I'm assuming the contemporay would have the best view? Do any of them pipe in wishes music? I've not done anything like that yet!

Thank you for your advice!! :goodvibes

California Grill atop the CR & they pipe in music, there's 4th floor observation deck at CR as well that doesn't require you to spend any $ & last time we watched Wishes from there music was piped in; don't know how much of the actual 'detail' of the castle holiday lights you can see but you can certainly get a decent view of it from either of these locations. DHS has Osborne Lights, Epcot has holidays around the world...guess it could be hit or miss what is still going to be decorated because of your arrival day, maybe over on Theme Park board you can get more definite answer. If you're getting park hoppers for multiple days adding an extra day usually does not amount to much more $.

Good luck with your planning :goodvibes

Thank you! :goodvibes That looks like a good option for us. I will probably know more as it gets closer what will still be happening. I wasn't sure if we could add a day at that time because I was afraid it would all then expire in 14 days, and I'd need another 20 days since I wasn't using the rest of the days until the following weekend.

One year we were there in January and we watched from our window in a tower room at CR as the big Christmas tree was dismantled. It was amazing to watch how it was done. WOW.:worship:

You've raised a good question.....I don't know for sure but if you use the ticket on Day 1 it may be subject to 14 day rule.....CheshireFigment is an expert on all things tickets & could tell you exactly; here's link to stickie on Theme Parks Attractions & Strategies board
