I made my parents a green ashtray. You know the green color of the 70s. I also bought Candy Cigarettes and pretended I was smoking.
My DD smoked cigars and my sister and I used his Dutch Masters cigar boxes to put our special keepsakes in. I have vivid memories of being stuck in my DD's car with the windows rolled up, smelling his stinking cigars, and him listening to the NASCAR race every weekend for 3 hours while he drove to my grandparents home.
My sister would start to turn green as we went up the winding roads in the NC mountains. We laugh about it today but we do believe it was child abuse.
None of us smoke today. By the time we were teenagers we bugged our parents enough to quit.
