How did you find it?

I've seen OKW for 50ish, SSR for 55 and HHI for 40 on the ROFR thread. How in the heck did someone find HHI for 40?

I got a good deal on my last HHI contract ( 53 per point with lots of banked points ) and I'd like to add on one more time. I'd realy like a reaaaaally good deal to finish off my point aquisition.

Thanks!

Keep in mind that the seller may list a contract for one price, but a buyer can counter offer any price he or she wants. If there is a HHI contract on the market for $60/point, you can counter offer $53, or any price you want. I have even heard of people offering more than the seller's original offer because they were afraid that Disney would ROFR the contract at the lower price.

Good luck!!!

tammymacb,
At The Timeshare Store, Inc. you are always welcome to present offers on any listings. Seller can counter-offer, accept your offer or stay firm at the listing price. We can always provide information on ROFR and let you know what recent sales have sold at.:cool1::banana:

In the case of an additional purchase, I'd be looking at how the overall contract fit together with what you already have.

Although the resale vs. direct savings should be significant, the difference between two resale contracts is likely to be far less. Plus, there may be other characteristics of one contract that are far more beneficial than another priced a little lower (banked points, UY, etc.)

I'd look at UY, dues, and if you really need the 11-month booking advantage for a specific reason. In other words, I'd be looking at the improvement the additional purchase makes to your DVC portfolio, not just the number of points. Does the purchase allow you do do something that you couldn't do before (like get into BWV/BCV during Food & Wine)...or is it just adding additional room-nights?

If you're buying points to vacation at WDW, HHI or VB don't make as much sense...and their dues are somewhat higher. In the long run, the dues cost will be more than the initial purchase price, so I'd give dues serious consideration.

At this point all my points are at HHI, and that's what I want to add. I use most of my points at HHI during Spring Break and in the summer. I do use points at WDW occasionally but I like AKL, so I don't need an 11 month anywhere as I don't travel to WDW for Spring Break and you won't catch me dead there for Xmas or NYE.

So, I'm looking for a great deal at HHI. Now just need to find it.

How many points are you wanting to add-on? The smaller HHI contracts are rare and often don't make it on the resale websites before they are snatched up. If you haven't already make sure you get on the major reseller's distribution lists so you have a better chance of catching the small ones that pop up.

i suggest that you contact your reseller and let them know what you want to buy - and ask them to call you when such a contract comes their way before it goes out for advertising...i am sure they would behappy to work with you in that way.

I'm looking for between 100-200 points.

I don't know if UY matters to you but there was a 200pt one listed at $49/pt on **********.com with some banked 2009 pts, all 2010 & 2011 points and seller pays half closing costs. Looked like a pretty good deal to me.

Thanks! I'll check that out. I am on the mail lists and have been on "call lists" before, but I never seem to get a call. :confused3

I'm hoping to stay with my UY, but for a great deal, I'd consider another. Just seems sticky when I'd want to book a GV and need points from 2 UYs.

You could just routinely transfer from one UY contract to another every year and combine the points without a problem.
