For those of you who dont follow the Rumor board..

Chlorine doesn't kill all algae "species".
My former employers and my current employers have both struggled with algae in the pools. My former boss had a pool service and they still had issues. My current boss is awesome at keeping the pool clean and keeping the water treated, but he has still had some algae issues.

Now that you mention it, my friends Tommie and Jeff have a pool in Fort Worth. They're always battling algae, too. I'd forgotten about the times we couldn't swim because they were re-shocking it.

I don't think about it, because we've never had an issue with ours. We've got a pool service, but pretty much all they do is vacuum the bottom and clean the filter.

:confused3

Wasn't it chlorinated?

Because I don't live all that far from the Magic Kingdom. And we've got a swimming pool. We have Heat, Rain, & Water and don't have algae.:confused3

They couldnt chlorinate it because it would bleach the color from the animatronics & decor.

We have a little mermaid ride opening up in california adventure, so I'm guessing it's going to be the same ride. I though hollywood studios already had a little mermaid ride? Or is that just a show?

My guess is that the Dumbo ride is going to work more like a number system, when your number is up you get to ride. I think it sounds like a great idea!

I think Toontown in Disneyland needs to go or get a remake. We have things like Gadget's go coaster, and Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers was a hit when I was a kid, kids today don't even know who Gadget is.

I am excited for a new Star Tours, but don't really think the current one is as terrible as some people make it out to be. I hope they don't put too much of the new Star Wars movies stuff in because I am not very fond of them. I think I watched the first two once and never even bothered with the 3rd.

By the time the Disneyworld fantasyland is done my niece will be 6. A perfect age! Can't wait to take her!

The Mermaid rides will be the same with different exteriors from what I have read. The Mermaid thing at the Studios is a show. A good show, in my opinion.

DS is excited about the new Star Tours. The current one makes me motion sick (which seems to get worse the older I get). I will definitely ride the new one at least once.

The thing that get me most upset about this whole expansion...It will be coming in stages, and the faeries have to wait 'til last to get their due place in the sun! :tinker:The nerve of them!;)

The artwork/depictions of the attractions, restaurants, etc. looked good during the D23 presentation. Or should I say G23...gayer than any Disney park! I mean really I have seen a lot of the Disney Store leadership before...but they go from gay to gayer, flame to flamer. :) hehehe. Except the one woman...I've seen her speak at meetings before. Someone needs to train her how to use a microphone. Example: microphone should be placed in front of mouth when speaking so people can hear you speak. ;)

I was happy to receive at Star Tours poster at the end of the presentation. Individually numbered...what to do with it I have no idea. Maybe I will hang it up at work to decorate my new digs there.

Saw several people I've met/seen before at other Disney things, mainly special DCL itineraries. Anyone going to Alaska? Our friends proposed doing the 6-night repo and the 7-night Alaska back-to-back. It covers a couple of birthdays so that would be fun!

Yucky pools despite appropriate chlorination regimen -- one word: bromine :thumbsup2

Oh ME ME!!! I have an idea what you can do with that!!! :rolleyes1 :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

(Now there is a princess I can get into......:rolleyes1)

I will have to disagree. If you can't have chlorine you can't swim in bromine pools. I would stick with a biguanide or a copper solution (like a Pristine Blue). Save the bromine for hot water, like a hot tub! ( Did I mention that one of my tubs was in Sorority row featuring Rumor Willis? I know shameless plug!!! LOL I also know the movie was just awful!)

I said this on the other thread and was promptly put in my place, but I'll say it again here: While I'm sure the Fanstasyland expansion will be nothing short of amazing, part of me wishes that Disney had decided to put some of that money into Beastly Kingdomme, the "never completed" section of AK. I understand that this makes more business sense, but I'd rather go on a rollercoaster with bats than see Ariel comb her hair with a fork again (even though I loves me some Ariel!). Then again, I know I'm not Disney's target market.

Agreed! I am sure that is what my nephews would want too. They really drop the ball when it comes to that tween boy set. ( That is why we spend time in Universal too.:rolleyes1)

From what I learned about the expansion this weekend at the Expo:

Each princess will have an elaborate meet and great area. Belle's area will have three restaurants, one being an elaborate one in the ballroom.

Little Mermaid will be the same "dark ride" concept that is being done at DCA, giving the illusion that it's underwater. The Nemo Sub ride at DL cost so much to maintain, due to having to have scuba divers for cleaning and maintenance. It's why the new World of Color show platform raises above the waterline for repairs, so very few divers are needed.

Dumbo area will still have a queue, but a circus themed area and tent. The rides for the dual dumbo rides will still have queues though.

The Pixie Hollow area will mimic the one at DL, with the exception of the Pixie Hollow Tree as the focal point.

The part about Dumbo not having a queue is rather deceptive. Everything has a queue.

The Mermaid thing sounds IDENTICAL to the Nemo ride at Epcot. I thought it was going to be more of a submarine thing like they have at DL, but then I read that the ride vehicles will be the same design as Haunted Mansion.

I think what they mean for Dumbo is that the interactive "games" going on around you as you wait it won't seem like a queue.

As for the Mermaid ride, actually it's a copy of DCA's LM attraction they are getting which is an omnimover attraction. The 20,000 Leagues attraction was removed years ago and Disney is not going to dig a new lagoon in Fantasyland again. :)

From what I understand, it's not so much an eviction as a forced relocation. Scott read somewhere that Mickey & Minnie's homes would be relocated to near the front of the park.

Now WHERE that might be :confused3 I have no idea.

wasn't the mickey and minnie meet and greet locations behind city hall originally... in the parking lot behind? There is a gate to the left where they could provide access. Or the gate at the end of the empty alley on the right part way down mainstreet, there is room in that parking lot as well to expand for mickey and minnie.
