For those of you who bought dresses at David's Bridal...

I purchased my dress from David's this past Summer and since then I've moved to a different town--can I take my dress to the David's near where I live now for bustling/alterations/pressing, or do I have to go back to the same store where I bought my dress?

Also, Sorry I've been so quiet lately--I've been so busy with work and wedding stuff!

One of my BM bought her dress at the David's near my house, and was able to take it to the David's Bridal in her hometown (several states away) to have it altered. I can't imagine you would have a problem.

My BM dress for my brother's wedding was bought out in west Texas. I was able to take it here (Dallas) and have it altered. I see no problem with that. I have had NO problems at all with my David's Bridal. They have been wonderful for me and are exchanging my dress for 2 sizes smaller as we speak. I hope to have it in soon!

I am going to disagree... I wouldn't take David's your dress unless you want something to worry about.

I have heard a few too many horror stories about the alterations departments in those stores. Believe you me, they are not few and far between either. I attended one wedding where David's actually gave the bride the wrong dress. It was the same style, but about 3 sizes too big when she put it on. She had sewn some colored ribbon onto the inside of the dress. When she went looking for it, it was nowhere to be found. Of course, the David's with the dress was 3 hours away....
