ITCH1 Can you tell me where you purchased the stand your TV is sitting on in the Tent, It looks to be the perfect size and height- Thank you- Btw your picture inspired me to purchase the CC-

We have the Copper Canyon too I'm a 50 year old, 5'2" VERY unhandywoman and I was able to set it up by myself in the back yard. The only thing that I really would have liked extra (aka taller) help with was the rain fly. I managed but a second person would have come in handy.

We use our travel trailer at Disney but I love our CC tent for shorter trips closer to home I'm afraid that I start to miss my private bathroom after a couple of days!

Pets are not allowed if you are tent camping at Fort Wilderness. There are certain loops that allow pets and only if your are in a completely enclosed motorhome or travel trailer.

Pets like to go on vacation, too, so we offer a limited number of pet-friendly Preferred Hook-Up and Premium campsites.

• All pets must be kept on a handheld leash that is 6 feet or shorter or confined in the interior of the owner's personal recreational vehicle. For pop-ups and tents, pets must be secured in a container, such as a portable cage or kennel.
• Campsite Guests with pet privileges may take their dogs to play in the off-leash Waggin' Trails Dog Park or walk the many on-leash trails. So that our Guests with pets can enjoy ample time at the Walt Disney World theme parks and destinations, day and overnight kennel care is available at Best Friends Pet Care.
• Pet owners are required to pick up after and properly dispose of their pet's droppings.
• Pets that interfere with the quality of the Guest experience at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in any away (such as aggression, noise, etc.) or generate a legitimate complaint to management will result in the pet owner being required to discontinue the pet's inappropriate behavior, remove the pet to an off-site kennel or leave the Resort.

Now, I would add my suggestion that you should not leave them unattended in anything (tent, pop up or RV) without A/C!

Euerka has some good choices- excellent quality too! for 5 people you want no smaller than '8 person' tent....we have a Eureka 12x12 tent,very sturdy,easy to set up and supposed to house 8 people, it's just barely enough room for 4 and clothing
Campmor has lots of good prices on great merchandise...don't skimp the tent, you NEED waterproof!

We just sold our MH because we are moving to North Carolina and I didn't have anywhere to store it while we build our new home. We are looking into tent camping at the fort for Thanksgiving since I still have my reservation. This thread has helped to answer a number of questions that I had about purchasing a tent for a family of 4. Thanks for all of the info.

we have an instant tent from Coleman and are camping this weekend for the first time in it, in Northern Florida so I will let you know about the ventilation. I think it wont be the greatest but we do plan on using a fan and leaving some windows partially down.

Do you mean Phantom Ranch in the Grand Canyon?

I did a backpacking trip along the main corridor trails of the Grand Canyon back in April 2008 and the instatent is WAY too heavy. It's not a backpacking tent. It's a car camping tent.

Instant tent WAY too heavy for any backpacking. We have the 8 man and I think it weighs 35 pounds or more. I am always surprised if I move it how heavy it is.

We had a fan in it and had pretty good ventilation. We did have windows open the whole time we were there so little privacy sacrifice but it wasnt bad. I will sacrifice the privacy for the ease of use as it is a first tent for us.

The hinged doors are a nice add-on, you just have to make sure they are firmly closed, because a big gust of wind will rip the fabric.
It's tall enough for my husband to stand up in (he's 6'5") and we can fit 2 queen size air mattresses plus our gear in them with room to walk.
Takes about 15 minutes to set up for my husband (I can't really do it, because it is so tall, and I'm barely 5'4"--I can't reach the rainfly!).

We did get it at walmart, but you can get it other places as well. It has held up nicely with rain and wind, so far.

We also have this tent and LOVE it! The hinge door was awesome, so easy to get in and out of the tent. We have used this tent many times, thru all kinds of weather. It has held up better than any other tent we have purchased, thru rain, wind and hail!

Two queen mattresses, plus plenty of gear, a diving center piece, lots of ventalition and plenty of pockets to hold stuff.

Easy to set up, even I can do it
