Since my DH and I are already married, we were not sure whether we should hire a officiant or have someone conduct the ceremony. We would rather allot the money to a hotel night or a tour, but we cannot think of who to do it. It just doesn't seem to be a role for anyone in our guestlist. Any advice?:confused3

I personally would just have a well spoken friend officiate. I am not sure what DFTW rules are but if you are already married it shouldn't be a problem. Save that money!:thumbsup2

I have been thinking the EXACT same thing.

To bad they dont offer an alternative to the officiants for the VR girls, cause theres no ppwk involved with the state, just show up & speak....

maybe the 2 of us can come up with something.....or someone will have an idea

My dh is a ordained minister, if we were going to be there he would be happy to do it. He has done several weddings (and a few funerals) and enjoys doing them. Maybe you could find a friend who could practice a lot to get it perfect.

that would be so cool!!!

He has done several weddings for family members. He is an ordained minister, although he worked as a youth minister- never behind the pulpit.

Hey Sarah, I have a book of vows that he uses if you need any ideas for the ceremony. Let me know! :)

Thanks, I have a little over 12 months to plan, so I will let you know. Thanks

We booked Rev. Day just because he was so highly praised. He was phenomenal!! He has a way of making you feel like he's known you all his life! His service was incredible and well worth the price! He made it feel like our first time getting married. It was precious.
Just another POV.
