You cannot believe everything that Disney Dining tells you! We had 5:50 reservations for Concourse for Thursday night, the 5th, before the HP, because DD said that everything was booked solid. Well, DH decided that we'd go to MK early, hoping that they would let us in with our HP ticket. If not, we could always ride the monorail over to the Contemporary for our ADR. We were let in and started walking toward the castle, he says, well, where can we eat HERE? I started mentioning couner service restaurants, and he's like, I want something better than that, what about that place we ate at before, LTT? I started laughing, saying well, they told me at DD that it was impossible, booked solid. He tells me to check anyway, "people respond better to you (me) than me (him)". Smooth, right? Well, I walked up to the greeter and asked, what are the chances of getting a table for dinner? She says, let me check, then tells me to wait and we can be seated in 20-25 minutes. Sure enough, we were. If I had believed DD we would have been stuck at Pecos Bills (not that there's anything wrong with it, mind you ;) ) :lmao:

Yep and we have hit it the other way as well checked with the TS and nope evrything booked no walk-ups.Got on the phone right there in front of them and got a table for 30 mins later.

It all depends on who you talk to and how much trouble they want to go through.

I found it very interesting, I called to make ADRs for our first night at the MK. I actually was going to decide if we were going to MNSSHP based on whether we could actually eat somewhere decent in the park or if we'd be better off going elsewhere. So, when the CM asked me whether we were going to the party, I explained the situation, that I was making an ADR first, then deciding, and she offered me god-awful times (I think 4:20 was the latest she offered anywhere) and swore there was not a thing later than that at any sitdown restaurant. I called back after deciding I didn't care, we could do counter service, and buying our tickets. THis was not 24 hours later and magically the guy I talk to after mentioning we were going to the party offered basically any time we wanted, no problem at any restaurant... definitely think something was up there. On the plus side, I suspect it has something to do with deterring people from stickign around too late on those nights if they aren't going to the party. Goes to show once again though that it pays to hang up and try again sometimes.

WE wnt on 10/2 and had ADR at 1900 Park Fare at 5:40. We decided to try to go early and we stopped by the desk at 4:15 and we were able to be seated right away. (It was the perfect time to eat, got out of there at 5:45...too bad there was trouble with the monorails and we had to wait 45 mins. for a boat...)

I'm not surprised. We were there two weeks ago. Free Dining and all ADRs were hard to get. We had dinner at LTT, and at 3 or so I decided we just weren't that hungry, popped in and cancelled. Then on another day, we had character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, and missed it because I :bitelip: locked myself out of my room, and it took awhile to get another key. Am sure there are plenty who cancel or do not show up. I guess always keep trying.
