For those like me who have never been on the Tower of Terror

 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: That was so funny , can't wait till everyone gets home to share that ! thanks for posting!

At the risk of making sure you never ride it, being on the durn thing feels like it takes forever! That video shows how short the ride really is! Too funny!

I am terrified of big DROPS on rides. If it weren't for the huge drop at the beginning of most roller coasters, I think I would enjoy them. I don't mind the loops or corkscrews, just that big drop.

My dh is trying to convince me that TOT "isn't really like that". He's also the one that convinced me (after three days and lots of begging) to go on 'Screamin', saying it's "not very bad at all". I don't trust him with regards to rides anymore.

The drop is very different on TOT, the thing that is scary is you don't see it coming , you know you are going to drop, but not when or how far. on a coaster you see the dip, you know exactly when you agr going down. Also you go straight down in TOT not at an angle. Every time I get on TOT , I think why am I doing this...........but boy do I love it!:scared1: :rotfl:
Now Maliboomer...........no way!

Thanks for the link!

Now I remember why I got off shaking and weak in the knees!

I went on it once (Yes, once and only once) at MGM in WDW. :scared1: I too dislike roller coasters for the drop, but love the rest. I absolutely hated TOT. I really dislike the sensation of falling... when your stomach is in your throat. Yes, it's quick, but I screamed in "terror" the entire time. To be fair, I've heard the WDW version is greater (worse?) than DLR's but I'm not trying it again. But, also to be fair, it might be something everyone should try once.

I still haven't made it to Splash Mountain yet, but I won't need an excuse this time since it'll be down when we're there ;) I must be the only one who's happy about this.

My husband will go on maliboomer and we laugh watching him go! But he wont go on GRR , he hates to get wet! I don't like the plexiglass "vomit shield" on mailiboomer , that is so freaky looking!

That was GREAT. LOVED it. I loved the hat too to give the sensation of him falling. CLASSIC.

I don't know I live in CA and at Great Amercia there used to be a ride called the edge and I HATED that feeling. It would shoot you up and then you would slowly move out and kind of hang there and the WHOOSH you would drop REALLY fast but it did slow down at the bottom and you would end up lying flat on your back.

I HATED that sensation and never did it again. I too hate falling and that is why I hate flying cuz of the sensation of dropping when the plane hits air pockets etc. Plus I am deathly afraid of crashing! :)

But with TOT I didn't go the first time we went to WDW cuz I was scared but then dh convinced me to go at DL and let me tell you I LOVE it. EVERY time I go now eventhough I have been a million times my hands sweat a bit and my legs tighten during that first fall but as soon as it is done that rush comes over you and I want to do it AGAIN.

One time DH and I were there and we went on it like 10 times in a row.

I had NO voice left after that LET me tell you. Yes I still scream every time but out of fun not fear LOL.

This is a GREAT ride of course I LOVE rollercoasters too esp screamin and the big ones like Hulk at IOA or the flying coastsers etc at the six flags parks.

LOVE that rush!!

That was so funny! That clip was as close to TOT that I will ever get. You know how you can say, "been there, done that"? I will stick with, "not been there, and never doing that", when it comes to TOT!! Go ahead and call me a sissy, I can take it! :)

DH and I finally rode TOT for the first time last week at MGM (we were visiting WDW for the first time). DH wasn't nervous or scared at all, but I, on the other hand, DID NOT WANT TO RIDE IT.

We walked through the hotel lobby, and because there wasn't a line to speak of, we walked right into the preshow movie. Then we immediately were divided into rows (of course we were in the FRONT row), and we were loaded onto the elevator before we knew what hit us. This is probably a good thing because it didn't give me any time to psych myself out standing in line.

Anyway, I actually thought it was kind of fun. Before this trip I was a bit of a drop chicken, but after riding Expedition Everest 6 times, the drops became the FUN PART of a ride. I even started puting my hands in the air!:woohoo: (I didn't put my hands in the air on TOT though.;) ) Now, after our trip to WDW, both DH and I are thrill ride junkies! I still think TOT is a bit scary, but I would ride it again - like once per trip.:lmao:

Tower of Terror is easily one of my fav rides. I dont like heights.....but you cant see how high you are. I know the doors open but you are so far back its not like Mailiboomer when you feel like you are hanging in the middle of nowhere....
I think thats why I also like space mountian, you cant see the drops, just relax and enjoy the ride.
