Hi - We're going in Oct. 2004 (arriving on Columbus day) for 6 days. How are the parks - crowded, moderate, slow - for the days following Columbus Day Monday?

Thanks guys!

We found the parks very crowded on tues and wed after Columbus day. We haven't been to WDW in the summer for 17 years, we always go off season, this is the most crowded i have seen in the off season.

Dear Ramsey trio ,
We were there the rest of the week after Columbus day and we felt that the crowds were larger than we have experienced in the past at this time of year . I would not worry about it though because with a little planning and smart use of Fastpass you'll be fine . Remember, the FTP had a definite impact on crowd size this year , IMHO , so relax and enjoy planning a memorable trip .

We were there for a quick trip 10/16-10/19 - and were very surprised by the crowds. But we found that MK was not crowded during the day if MNSSHP was that night. We went to MNSSHP on 10/16 and found it crowded - I'm not sure if we would do it again. We were also at Epcot for the Food and Wine Festival. I thought prices were expensive for what you got. Accept for the Samuel Adams beer seminar. Also found that a lot of the fast pass machines were shut down. Example - Tower of Terror 120 minute wait - fast pass closed down??? Looked like only one side of tower was being used. Had trouble with Rock and Roller Coaster - so shut down fastpass. Just a really strange trip. Seemed to be a lot of people on the streets.

We just returned from our visit Oct 13-18. I thought the crowds were fine - a little busier than I would have thought for this time of year, but we had a great time!!! And, I would definitely return at this time of year again!

We went to MNSSHP on Oct 14 - we went on all the rides (except Space Mountain and Splash Mountain - my little girl is afraid of those). We rode all the other rides, some of the them more than once! It was great - most of the rides were a walk on. We were allowed in the park around 4:00 PM with just the Party ticket. We had dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern, which was OK. We rode a few rides, then went to Carousel of Progress, and Buzz Lightyear several times before the party! We met many characters too!!

We went to Epcot on Oct 15 - again, not crowded at all. The lines were a little long for kids at the Kidcot stations. We walked up around 12:30 for lunch at LeCellier, with no PS, and were seated within minutes. We also made an 8:00 PM PS for China that afternoon, with no problems.

Animal Kingdom was really nice - (we didn't do Dinosaur or Kali Rapid River, since my DD doesn't like these either!). We didn't find it crowded at all.

Magic Kingdom on Friday was great - it did get a little crowded in the late afternoon. It was about a 30 minute wait for Buzz!

We went to dinner at Artist Point and were able to get in a little early, and my DD went to Cubs Den and had a great time!!!

This was our first time going in October and we had a blast!!!

We were just there Saturday and Sunday and thought the crowds were overwhelming. It was so hard to even walk around through the parks. 90 minute wait time on Test Track, Mission Space, Space Mountain & Thunder Mountain, just to name a few. We're going back in November and hoping for less crowds.

I'm not sure that you can compare this year to next without knowing if there is going to be something similiar to the FTP....while there last week we heard that "all rooms were booked"...we arrived Friday before columbus day and did MK on Sat even against my better judgement as the DD's had to see the castle...it was soooooo busy in all the lands...the parade was really packed to get out, so much that we decided to stay for second fireworks and spectro(1st cancelled due to rain)

But, we still had fun, fastpass works great the weather was great...plan and have a good time.....:wave2:
