I may be having a senior moment here. We will be on the DVC member cruise August 29th, so our 30 day check in date is approaching. I was trying to start the online check in process, and the DCL website (and the app) are not letting me do anything (although, my daughter just pointed out to me we have to wait for that 30 day mark, but I thought I was able to start filling out the forms ahead of the 30 days. As I said, senior moment!) We cruised last November out of Port Canaveral, and as part of our online check in we had to upload pictures of our passports, and take a "selfie", which was then part of the paperwork for check in. I can't find anything that mentions if I will need that again for the port of Vancouver. This has me wondering if our check in process at the Vancouver Port will be more like what check in at Port Canaveral used to be, where we show our passports, and they take our picture then. I just want to make sure I have everything in place that I will need for a smooth check in. Thanks for any advise any of you may be able to provide!!

You’ll still need to upload your passport and selfie for the DCL process. The difference for Vancouver is you will also need to use the ArriveCan app for your arrival to Vancouver, which is the Canadian government process, not DCL.

Yes, you need passport and selfie photo for online registration. They also took our photos in person when checking in, but for all security (I.e. leaving, entering ship at each port), it was the photo we uploaded on our own that was used as the reference photo.

you are correct, you can’t get a head start uploading documents until that midnight 30 days out mark. i had actually left that as a suggestion when I got the post-cruise survey email.

But you can take photos of everything now and put them in a folder on your computer, ready for upload. You don’t have to wait to make that selfie at the 30-day mark.
