For those driving to WDW, how many hours does it take for everyone?

Along I-75. Each page equals 25 miles, every exit is marked with accomodation, gas stations, and places to eat. Every rest stop is marked. He shows all the by pass's with advice. He also has a lot of info about many of the areas along 75. He tells some of his favorite place's to eat and spend the night. Gives some good advice on travelling with children and during severe weather. You will also get a list of radio stations to tune into for many areas along 75. Susan

Along I75 is a vey unique book because of its format. The information is very detailed for both driving and entertainment.

Southeastern MA 18-22 hours depending on who is with me and when I leave. If I am driving by myself, it's closer to 18 hours. The more with me, the longer it takes. I try to leave between 4 and 6pm and I arrive at my house usually by 3pm. Add another hour to Disney.

Doing it again on March 24th.

13 to 14 hours .gas and one potty break per state and bring our own food and drinks.and yes i have lead in my right shoe. i'm about 10 to 15 miles nw of baltimore,md

I'm about an hour south of you and it takes me 14 hours with two stops for food and potty breaks every 4 hours for the kids. I guess I must have more lead in my right shoe than you do.

13 hours pretty much exactly, Northern Virginia. I only stop for gas and bathroom.

Geesh! I feel like I should drive instead of fly after reading your times! I'm in Mississippi and feel that 11 hours is too much for me, well if you consider I'd have a 6 yo in tow! I'm the type that if your back teeth aren't floating and your eyes aren't yellow, you can hold it just a LITTLE longer

24 driving hours for us. We do it in 2 days. Thank goodness DH decided we fly this year.

Driving down isn't that bad (especially now with the DVD player for the kids) when you know that at the end of the trip there's Disney waiting for you. Its the drive back that seems rough ..........with the sadness of leaving a warm sunny climate of Disney, the long ride, and the thought of all that laundry!

I agree 100% about the DVD player for my DD ...It takes us ~9.5 hours from NC.

West MI here.....21 hours.

When I was younger....my family would drive straight through everywhere we went. No DVD players or gameboys to play....but it was before the seatbelt laws and we would lay down on the floor and seats of the car and us kids would actually sleep through the night!

When it was just me and DH, we would drive straight through. But ever since we've had DD, we've flown. But the prices are just too high right now and we could drive for much much less. So we're going to try for straight through when we leave in 6 weeks. We'll leave around 4pm on a Friday and with pitstops, hope to get in just after check-in on Saturday. Then we can rest up to start our vacation the next day!

We might stop on the way back......one night in Dalton GA. We figure we don't want to waste our money on hotels along the way....we'd rather spend it in WDW

Thank goodness we have the DVD player, Leapster Lmax and Sirius satellite with the Kids Stuff Channel to get us through our DD having to be strapped in at all times!!

(Although we are leaving our options open if priceline accepts our low ball offer just before )

It takes us 14 hours of driving but we take 3 days to get there. We divide it up so that we drive 6 hours the first day, 5 the next day, and 3 the last day.

We too thought that the drive home would be rough, but just the opposite occured. We left centrol MO at 3:00PM CST on a Saturday and drove through the night to arrive in Orlando at 10:15 AM EST. I had been up all night Thursday chaperoning a senior graduation activity and my daughter spelled me twice driving during the night. We worried the drive home would be loooong.
However, we left POP Century at 7:15AM EST and arrived home at 11:50PM CST. I drove the entire way home with no fatigue. I really think the adrenaline was working for us going home because as much as we love WDW, we were ready to come home after a week away.
Next time we will drive straight through, but start early in the morning and no more driving through the night. And yes, Atlanta is bad, even at 1:00 in the morning.

That's sounds like my brother and his girlfriend. They love to drive to WDW on the spur of the moment. I'm so jealous

We prefer to drive. We make that part of the vacation too. I decide on how many days we want to stay at WDW and then add 6 days driving back and forth time. We have a blast. I dread when we do have to fly as it is boring!

Our trip takes 21 hours, we LOVE driving down.
There had been discussion about flying, and both my DH and I would rather drive. After just 2 trips we already have regular stops. I love the scenery, and the car talk about WDW. We drive straight through, rest when we get there, and the next day we are ready.
Also I love having a car there, it gives a lot more flexibilty in your schedule.

It takes 21.5 hours for us to drive to Orlando. We will drive about 14-16 hours the first day...get to Florence SC. Then it will be about 6-7 hours on day 2. We are driving from Kingston, Ontario, Canada.....long haul!

Leaving in 48 hours, check in is in 4 days!! Can't wait!

We wouldn't get to go every year if we didn't drive. A family of five for air fare and a car rental would get outrageous. We live in Illinois, we stop overnight in Georgia, so usually with traffic, road constructions, potty breaks it takes us 20 hours total.

Thank God for Gameboys, DVD players and my 2 year olds favorite new toy, his Leap Pad!
