I Just booked the return portion of my ticket on Delta for early Feb 2007 for $93 a seat. (I know Delta is in Bankruptcy.) I have been watching the return flight 6:55pm arriving at 9:46pm. We took it this year and it worked out great for us. The fare had been over $500.00 per seat! I just decided to book it and see what happens with Delta. I just wish they still had the TV's on the planes!!!

I'm going to hold out until JetBlue releases its flights and fares. I really don't want to take a chance on Delta now.

Ah yes...the old way until JB opens their fall/winter window. By the time they get around to it, I may be needing a walker!!! I used to love being able to book at the 331 day window, but now with all the Delta changes, I have to wait on JB...and it's killing me. I like to have it pretty much done.

They're actually pretty consistent about it; it's always 5-6 months prior.

bicker:

Does Jet Blue open up at any particular time of day or is it at any time of day like Southwest?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't think I've ever seen anything that indicated it that specific. I'm going to head over the flyertalk.com and maybe it'll come up in conversation over the next few weeks...

Nothing there that gives me a clear understanding of which day or what time of day. :(

What I did read, though, was that JetBlue has joined the ranks of the rest of the industry -- an airline that is losing money on every ticket it sells. That least Southwest as the only significant profitable airline, and that's because they have all those fuel contracts they've been milking. They expire over the next year and if fares don't go up, Southwest will be losing money as well.
"In 12 monthswe'll be talking about the problems with the low-cost carriers, not the (old line) carriers," said Michael Boyd, an industry consultant. He predicted that the upstart, low-fare carriers will have trouble finding new markets for expansion, while old line carriers are well positioned to take advantage of continued growth in business and international travel.

It seems every time I look at Jet Blue it is more than Delta. What am I doing wrong?
