Ok so I'm pretty sure that the only people still following this PTR are also my friends on fb...so this may be a boring post for you guys.
First up:
Jan discounts were released on Monday for CC holders! Yay!!!! And as I'm a credit card holder, I called to book our trip (my first time booking it myself)....I have to say, I prefer doing it thru a
travel agent...I'll probably stick with them from now on
We're going Jan 4-10 and the discounts don't start til the 5th. So since I was stuck paying rack rate for our first night no matter what, we decided to do a split stay and spend our first night at AoA in a Little Mermaid room!!
It was only about $15 more than 1 night at Pop and Andrew and I both really wanted to stay there. So yay!! I'm really so excited about it. My plan that day was to wander over to AoA anyway and explore. So now we won't need to "wander over there", and can just explore our own resort! yay!!
I'm hugely excited because of the Cars section!! Caden is in LOVE with the Cars movie, and McQueen, and Mater, and Doc, and etc etc etc.
AND this means we can swim in the Nemo pool either when we arrive or the next day! Extra Yay!!
So since our tickets will be attached to our package starting on the 5th we'll plan to do "early ticket pick up" which we did on a previous trip so I don't anticipate that being an issue. IF it is a problem for some reason, we will just do DTD for dinner and enjoy our resort.
That also meant I had to cancel our Chef Mickey reservation for our arrival night which I was really excited about.

However, I was less excited for our Epcot dinner the next night. It was kinda the "we need one more meal" dinner and I was ok with skipping it. So I got on the disney website and miraculously there was a Chef Mickey reservation open for 6:20pm on our second day!!!!

So I snapped that up and we will just do counter service on our first night and start with our table service meals on day 2! No problemo!!
I think it will actually probably work out better that way anyway because it gives us some time to warm Caden up to the characters before throwing him in a room stuck at a table with giant characters coming right up to him.
The rest of our trip with be at our good old favorite: POP Century!!
Hopefully with a nice Lake View room like one of these!!
PS how do I add room requests to my reservation? I've never done that before!
We'll have tickets for arrival day (hopefully) and then 5 days of the trip and our departure day. Our flight out isn't until 7pm so we'll be able to spend a good bit of our departure day at MK. We're just doing Base tickets as of right now...I'm a little nervous that we're going to make it until our "open day" and then want to hop and end up adding that on on our second to last day. So IDK...maybe we'll add it sooner? Currently I kinda like the idea of just staying at one park each day. But we shall see.
Ooh, I've also just this week moved Cadens bedtime later (to fix an early riser issue) but it comes with the added benefit of being 9pm Central time, which makes his bedtime 10pm Florida time...aka, we can make it thru Wishes and back to the hotel without screwing up his bedtime too much! Yay!! Although he is two and his bedtime will probably change between now and Jan...but whatever.
Also related to sleep...he's done several stroller naps recently (each one lasting his normal 2 hrs) and we even went to STLMickeyMom's girls bday party DURING naptime...and he was fine! I'm feeling quite good about being able to stay in the parks most days if we want and just doing a stroller nap as needed.
And then next up we have Halloween!!
We've decided to go with Buzz, Jessie, and Woody for our costumes. I made 'em myself! :-D (well..with the help of goodwill)
Even has a jetpack on the back
mine: (please ignore the stupid face)

I added yellow cuffs after this pic and I still need to add red puff paint for the swirls on the yellow. I'll wear some tan boots (don't own cowboy boots), and a rolled up bandana as a headband (don't own a cowboy hat either).
And Andrew's Woody Costume
He'll add cowboy boots, a hat, and a big belt buckle.
But I'm pretty excited about the whole thing. Caden loves his Buzz costume. He thinks it's pretty cool
I also got the supplies for Caden's Flynn costume that he'll wear at Disney World for meeting Rapunzel. We'll also pull out his Peter Pan costume that I'm pretty sure will still fit him.
So that's what's going on around here
