May 14-The Day I Arrive!

I promised I would try to keep this TR as live as possible so here I am with our first day!

I woke up way too early this morning but woke up feeling like this!

To go do something like this

Yep I was up at 5:15 for the gym! You could say I am dedicated or *coughobsessedcough* but either way I was there. I really enjoyed my last class and got a good work out then headed home to get ready!

Once we were all ready (I should insert a picture of all of my luggage here but have yet to take one) we headed to meet my grandma and grandpa and Bob Evans for some breakfast.

The breakfast was good but between saying goodbye to my second home, the gym, and my grandparents I was basically feeling like this

I am pretty sure this gif will be over used in my TR!

I forgot a couple things at home so rather than heading to the airport we headed back home :headache: Usually this wouldn't be an issue but considering I will be here for around 8 months we needed to stop

Once I had gathered my forgotten belongings we set out on the road! Rather than flying out of Detroit we found it saved us a lot of money to fly out of Flint instead. We weren't sure how long the drive would be so I,of course, had Disney music at the ready to help pass the time! :goodvibes

We got there a lot earlier than we needed to and after finding out the lot we wanted to park in was full but the sign wasn't lit up saying it was full, we headed across the street. We parked and a shuttle showed up right away! This made things much easier considering we had 7 bags, not including our carry on items! Yes I may have over packed..

Anyway getting the luggage on the shuttle was one thing but getting it to the check in desk was another! This airport is much smaller than we are used to and doesn't offer curb side check in! The airport is a bit outdated as well and still has carpeting everywhere. This made it ridiculously difficult! I had two rolling bags along with a tote bag and a duffle bag. My dad had three rolling bags and a briefcase. We were lucky to make it to the desk!

I was so happy to get rid of the bags and I had some good mojo because I didn't have to pay an overage fee on any of them :dance3: I was really close on a couple of them so this made my day!

We went through security and met the nicest TSA Agents ever! Who knew they existed?! Then when we were all done we had quite a bit of time to kill so we killed time with some drinks!

I had an Angry Orchard and my dad had a Sam Adams. Although the drinks were good we received some bad news while we were enjoying them. Our flight had been delayed  We were already there an hour early with nothing to do and it was delayed 40 minutes! I guess it came out of Baltimore and the weather was pretty rough there!

We waited what seemed like forever but finally the airplane arrived!!! We boarded quickly and were off! It was a pretty interesting flight with a ton of turbulence! The stewards were literally yelling at people to stay seated and making it seem like we were all going to die! My mom was a bit freaked out but I figured we are up so high if the plane goes down there really isn't much we can do :cool2: I try to play it cool once in a while :rotfl:

Obviously, our plane landed in beautiful Orlando! It was very surreal landing here and knowing I wouldn't be taking another flight here for a while because I would be living here!!!!

We did what anyone does when they arrive at MCO, except if they have a car, do the mad dash to the Magical Express area! I swear between this and the TSM dash Disney is for runners!

I did have to stop though and say hi to my future boss!

We had no issues with our magic bands and were ushered through and got on a bus rather quickly!

I only teared up a little when they movie talked about how CMs have been trying their best to make magic for us to see and I was all like "Oh my gosh that will be me!".

Plus we saw this!

We dropped off some people here

and then we got to POP!

I have to say we love POP but our first few experiences with it today left a bit to be desired! We checked in and the CM didn't give my mom or I new pin codes for our Magic Bands which caused an issue when we tried to pay for our food later on. She also was a bit short with my mom when my mom tried to link her reservation for their add on day to our reservation so they wouldn't have to switch rooms.

Once we were done with all the check in stuff, and I received my coffee maker I had sent down, we headed to get some food! We were all starving!!!!

I walked right over to a counter and asked for a chef for my food allergy and ordered my food while mom and dad got theirs.

We went to pay at a register a CM was standing at and she told us she wasn't open but we could go to the next one. No one was there so a manager asked a CM who was with the original CM to sign on and ring us up. This woman rolled her eyes at her manager!!!!! How unprofessional! Idk if we are all caught up in the Disney bubble and just never noticed these things and now that I will be a CM I notice them or what :confused3 We got all of our food though and chowed down!

I got these babies

The only difference to the ones they serve regularly in the cafeteria is that mine were on classy Tostitos chips princess: Fancy!!! They were amazing though and nothing beats them!

Mom had a hot dog and onion rings which are not pictured and my dad had the brisket.

My dad and I watched Hungry Investors a couple weeks ago and I commented on how you couldn't see the pink smoke ring in the meat :rotfl: We have become food snobs watching shows like that!

Once our hunger was satiated we headed to room to drop off our bags! I also had to fix my hair a little because when my hair meets Florida all heck breaks loose! Yeah humidity and I will have a long fight during these next few months!

My hair got under control pretty quickly and we headed to the bus stop. On our way their I was instantly drawn to the Star Wars Magic Band gear! Can you blame me?! Once I had bought my MB swag I went to put it on my MB. This man comes over to my mom and I and proceeds to tell me what a sucker I am for buying in to this whole MB thing and how it isn't as good as what they used to have. He told me he just didn't understand why I would spend that kind of money.

Sir I willingly gave Disney $250 so I could go shopping tomorrow. Question why I spend my money on Star Wars stuff do you?!

Plus look at how amazing this stuff is!

After I had used the force on this man and gave him a nice throat hug we headed to MK to pick up our park tickets and grab a bus to Port Orleans Riverside

We saw some ducks who were tired after a long day at the park and wanted to go home to POP

Only in Disney would you actually think ducks were busy having fun all day!

We also saw a pretty hotel!

We got our tickets and I proceeded to plan out our FP+ on the bus ride to Port Orleans.

It was very pretty out by the time we arrived!

We were here to see one our favorites Yeehaw Bob! This would be a second time for my mom and I and a first for my dad! Prior to this I had an errand to run!

I have to let everyone know I am celebrating right?!

By the time I was done mom and dad had already taken their seats and ordered our drinks!

I got a hurricane

Dad got a smoked turkey

Both were amazing!!! We really enjoyed them and the music just added to the night!

He is such a talented man! He is full of energy and sings a ton of Disney songs! He even sang Let It Go! It was a very fun night and I have some great video from it for our vacation movie!

We were too tired to deal with having to get a bus to a park and then to our resort so we hopped in a cab. This cab ride was not pleasant. The man did not smell well and while I can't blame him for sweating, it is like 1000+ degrees sometimes, he should not smell like that! I was directly behind him so I was pretty happy once it was over!

I took a couple pics on the way to the room

Uploaded my pics from tonight and wrote this update! You would have gotten it sooner if photobucket had been cooperating! I should get some get ready for my Rebel Rendezvous!!! May the force be with you!

I somehow missed the update!! Lol!!

However, I LOVE those nails!! I'm thinking of getting some acrylics done before my May trip so I can have some good nails at least before I have to start :lmao:

Glad you found it!

Thank you!

Agreed!

I am pretty sure mine will be on Tuesday the 20? I won't know for sure until I check in.

I agree!!!! I am so excited to meet you!

So happy to see that you've made it down and you're getting settled into vacation!!! I love the nighttime pictures! There's just something extra special about Disney when the sun goes down... :cloud9:

So excited that you're doing this live... Cannot wait to hear more!!! Enjoy today!!!

So funny I saw that episode of Hungry Investors and noticed the same thing now :rotfl2:
Have a great time this weekend at SWW!!! Don't choke hold too many folks there. :darth:

What a great first day except for the turbulence and rude CM at Pop.

Jill in CO

Following along. Sounds like a great arrival day. I'm looking forward to hearing all about your Star Wars adventures!

This is a great update of your arrival day! We've never been to Pop, so I don't know what it looks like. The evening picture that you took makes the resort look really nice.

Did you ride the ferry from TTC to MK? That picture of the GF looks like it was taken from water level. I love taking the boats.

What a great way to end your first day, with Hee Haw Bob. That is another thing we have on our "to-do" list. :)

I love the Star Wars MB accessories. They are so cute!

Can't wait to hear about your day. Loving all the pictures on instagram the one of your parents priceless.

FIRST... Thank you for a Peach gif to start off. Made my day. :)

Now that's some great mojo to start off this exciting journey... No overage fees and nice TSA agents. They do indeed exist.

Oh my goodness, how odd that all these less than great CM's are showing up as you prepare to enter your DCP. Perhaps this is just Disney's way of showing you what NOT to do.

Haha, wow, you're really drawing in the winners. Now you have people commenting on what you buy???? Lordy. Oh, and please let us know how the MB swag holds up. I've heard they tend to fall off rather easily.

ACK how did I miss the start of this? Well I'm here and ready! Time to get caught up.

I am going to try my best to keep it live or at least get on every day! Thank you we did!

Looking forward to reading all about your adventure!

Despite those instances it was a nice first day!

I am too tired to post too much tonight but I promise I will soon!

No that as from the walkway to the MK entrance from the buses. I love taking the boats as well!

Thank you!

Congrats on making it down! I love the R2D2 magicband accessory. Hope you had a great shopping experience today.

Thank you!

Thank you! I have gotten a lot of compliments on it!

Thank you! I did have a great day of shopping!

I will be sure to post it as soon as I can!

Thank you! My mom was a bit mad I posted it

Peach is adorable! I am glad to help start your day off on the right foot!

It was nice! That's exactly what I said after we went through security  Who knew?!

I know! It might be!

I was pretty annoyed by his comments. I would never do that to someone!Unfortunately I lost C3PO today. He was one the part of my MB where the overlap from the connecting part was and he must of gotten caught on it and was pulled off. The Rebel logo and Yoda are still on there though :thumbsup2

Hey everyone!

I am pretty beat but when it comes to keeping this live, I will at least post a run down each day and the actual update when I can!

So important highlights:
Rebel Rendezvous- It was cool and I spent a good amount of money but it wasn't fully worth the money.
My DISmeet count is now at 1
Ohana is amazing and I could eat their gluten free buffalo wings every day

Not much else to say and I will try to get an update up Saturday. Tonight I am pretty tired and haven't even downloaded the pics yet and need to be up at 5 to work out before the park opens. We will be headed to SWW!!! Tomorrow is our breakfast with MEK and EandEsMom! We will also have a late night tomorrow at Jellyrolls so I promise Saturday there will be an update!

I did forget to add something about last night though. When we got to the bar area at POR there was a couple with their yorkie in the lobby. The dog was walking around the lobby and the couple fed it during their time there. They were in the lobby for at least an hour and any CM that approached them only went over to play with the dog. So we know Disney is supposed to have a policy about dogs so I was about curious your feelings on this? Should a CM have said something? Is it okay to have your dog with you? Let me know :)

I loved the gluten free chicken wings at Ohana! I couldn't stop eating them. ;) The chocolate sundae with gf chocolate cookies was delicious, too. :thumbsup2

I'd rather not see dogs at Disney, outside of service dogs, of course. We've stayed in hotels that have allowed dogs and we've had to move rooms twice because of the incessant barking. And that was with the owner right there in the room, too.:( I would hate that to happen at Disney.

I don't usually order second helpings of food at buffets but here I always do! They have a different dessert now and it's much better~

We agree. We were all pretty surprised when we saw that and wondered what would have happened if the dog chose to use the restroom in the lobby :confused3

I remember being on a Disney bus once and a lady was holding a very small dog. I wondered where she and it had been and where they were headed to, because I also thought dogs other than service dogs were only allowed at Fort Wilderness. I am pretty sure we were going from a park and to Pop Century. I don't know the story, I just know she was on the bus with the dog, the dog sat in her lap quietly the whole time, and no one said anything to her, so I guess she had made arrangements with the driver for that to be okay.

A lot of people wish WDW would have a pet-friendly resort. Maybe that will happen one of these days.
