FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER...I'm NOT GOING HOME!! UPDATE DEC.30 PG 74

First, congrats on finishing finals!

I am sure if I was going through what you were there would be a lot of times that I would happen to get some dust in my eye ;)

Definitely sounds like good advice! Actually, behaving and keeping a smile is pretty good advice for life in general

That's awesome that you will have the opportunity to go over to Give Kids the World. The kids getting to interact with people as excited and upbeat as you and your fell DCPers can only help them!

Thank you!

I know I am definitely going to be a complete sap!

I agree!

I am really excited about it! There are so many opportunities during the DCP I really want to take advantage of all of them!

Hi Caitlin, I've followed your adventures for a long time just lurking, but I wanted to say congrats and good luck to you!!

Done with finals?!?! My DD finals don't start until May 8th! Congrats on finishing up with the semester! Before you know it, you will be in Disney as a CM!

What a feeling of relief to have school behind you. As a teacher, this is a stressful time of every year as we do all of the paperwork we must do, so it's a relief to have that and the testing behind us. On the flip side, my time with this group of kids is coming to an end. Some I will see in the halls next year, and some I will never see again. I will always wonder what happens to them as they move on to other things. Some of our kids have pretty tough circumstances at home, so I will worry about them. So, the end of every year is filled with a mixed bag of emotions.

I am excited that you will get to be a part of the GKTW program. We want to take the girls over there one of these times when we have a car. Contributing money, we do that, but seeing the property, volunteering to do a hands-on activity, or taking items over there in person would be so much more enlightening for all of us.

Well-behaved and smiling - that's good advice. For the most part, and I mean for the huge, big, probably 90% big part of our experiences, we've had good-to-great cast members at every turn. On the few occasions when we've run across a less than wonderful cast member, it does put a momentary damper on things. Of course, we get over it quickly and move on, but we always think of those people who do not go to WDW as much as we do, and we want their once or twice in a lifetime Disney experience to be filled with only those happy cast members and experiences, not the sour ones. What we have noticed in the past maybe 2-3 years is more personal chatter among cast members in the shops, whether it be resort gift shops or in the park stores. Of course, people are going to socialize when not busy, but we've actually had to stand at a counter and wait to be checked out while someone finished a conversation about a date they had, and that's not really Disney acceptable. I'm sure you will be the kind of cast member that continues spreading that Disney 'magic' for so many. :earsgirl:

Yep! As a graduate student a lot of mine are just writing papers and answering questions and emailing the documents in. I do have one class left on Monday but I already finished the paper for it :thumbsup2

Only 19 days!

I know I am a bit relieved but I find it nerve wracking to have to wait for the grades! Aw I am sorry! It seems like it would be a rough time!

I am excited about that as well! It really is such an amazing place and gives so many good memories for families that it will be magical to be a part of it as well!

I know how important customer service is from my experience in retail and growing up in a retail family. Disney is like 10x that because I know how important these vacations are to their families and not everyone is as lucky as most of us are to go more than once in our lifetime. Every person I come in to contact with might be on their first trip and have been waiting years to be able to get there. I feel like it's just remembering who you work for and what legacy you are trying to uphold :thumbsup2

Just started reading... but I'm in!
Welcome!!

Yay for your finals being over!
How wonderful that you can volunteer with Give the Kids the World. That must be something to experience.

Oh, I love seeing your sensitive side when it comes to Disney and anticipating what is to come. Celebrating the milestones behind you and the successes to come! :cheer2:

That's so awesome that you plan to volunteer with GTKTW. :goodvibes

Thank you! I am very excited for this new chapter!

I am really excited about it! I didn't even know they did that!

May 20th

Today will be a very sad day :worried: It will be the last day I see my parents until August! :(

Today we will start off our day by picking up the rental car. We thought getting a rental would make it a lot easier for us to transfer my plethora of suitcases :lmao:

After that Mom and Dad will drop me off at the apartment or dorm, whatever you want to call it, so I can unpack a little while I wait for my Traditions time.

While I am at Traditions they will be trying out Sea World for the first time in a long time!

You won't hear too much about my Traditions experience but I can safely say I will be bawling my eyes out :thumbsup2

After I am done crying my eyes out over this dream come true I will be heading back to the apartment to get ready for dinner! Our last dinner will be here

at

Cali Grille! My roommate Kristyn will be joining Mom,Dad and I :goodvibes

After dinner we will be heading to Walmart to pick up food and any other groceries we may need. Once we are done loading up the car we will be heading back to Cali Grille to watch Wishes from their viewing area!

Once we are done crying over all of those fireworks it will be back to the apartment where we will unload all of our groceries, my dad will set up the wifi and we will all say goodbye. I am pretty sure there will be a ton of tears at this point! I will miss my parents a ton and I will definitely be looking forward to August!

Congratulations on being done with finals! You're getting so close! :dance3:

Like everyone else has said, I think it's great that you'll be able to volunteer with GKTW and that you're planning on doing so! I'd love to be able to spend some time there.

I know how it feels to miss your family, so I feel for you there and I totally understand that you're already thinking about it. My entire family lives in Texas and I haven't seen most of them in a year and a half. When I get sad, I remind myself that I'm lucky that I have a family worth missing instead of one I don't want to be around :flower3:

wow, better make sure you drink lots of water that day ... sounds like you will be losing some moisture b/w Traditions, Wishes, and your parents leaving!

Great choice in Cali Grill for your "last meal" and great that your roommate is coming too - really setting up a bit of a transition to your new life!

Thank you! Only 17 days till I leave!

I am really excited to be able to volunteer there during my program! I think it will be a very rewarding experience!

Aw  It is rough and this will be the longest I have ever spent from them but luckily my parents will be back in August and my mom grandma and aunt will be there for my birthday!

Such an exciting time but also an emotional time that is for sure! We'll both be counting down until August:rotfl2:

It will be tough but I am pretty sure this summer will fly by!

I will need to stay hydrated!

My mom and I both enjoyed the view and food when we went there in November! I am glad my roommate is coming as well she is going to WDW solo and everyone else has family or friends coming so I think it will help to have her join so she doesn't feel as lonely :thumbsup2

Only just following along! I'm so excited for you!

Thank you for joining!

This sounds like this will be a fabulous trip and a wonderful life experience after. I can't wait to hear about it!
