"For the first time in forever, I'm getting what I'm dreaming of." Sept 2015 PTR

Cuteness!! We love Nightmare in our house; we're going as Lock, Shock and Barrel for MNSSHP next year.

Glad you and the kiddos had such fun; everything looks great, as always! Hope you guys have a safe and happy Halloween!

I can't wait to see pictures of those costumes, that is such a good idea!

Thank you, hope you had a great Halloween!

We ADORE NBC at our house and I'm SO jealous you got to do HM with the overlay! One day I will get to DL for Halloween! Your movie night is totally cute! Love the jack pizzas!

Thank you. Yes, seriously if you make it to DL, go when the space mountain and NBC are redone. They are so amazing!!! Like I said HM was so good, it made me want to watch the movie. Now that I've watched the whole movie, I want to go back and ride it again.

Love the NBC movie night! I think this is another one I might be able to get BF into! I might have to try this one tonight since we don't have any other Halloween plans!

I coach for Pop Warner and the girls are 10-13. I have a PTR going for my trip in March and there are pictures in there of my girls. We won at our league competition so we are going to Regionals in a few weeks!

Happy Halloween!!

Sounds awesome, I hope you did it! I hope you post pics, I am going to find your PTR now.

Such a fun age group! Congrats, that is really cool! I am going to check out the pics!

Happy Halloween!

I hope you all had a fun and happy Halloween. We sure did. It was cold and rainy, but that didn't dampen our spirits, my kids were troopers.

Sorry about the large Elsa photo...photobucket would not let me edit this photo, I've tried for 2 days.

what cuties! hope you had a great Halloween--i'm sure they got lots of candy and had a blast!

Thanks, yes we had a wonderful Halloween. It was fun seeing how much my DS was into trick or treating this year. He would have run to every house if I'd let him.

Such cute costumes! It's s nice to know people still trick-or-treat; doesn't really happen here.

Glad you had such a fun Halloween!

Really? Not many trick or treating where you live? So sad. Trick or treating is HUGE here and houses run out of candy early because there are so many.

Love the kid's costumes! So cute.

Thanks, I am sad they are "too old" to coordinate their costumes anymore but at least they are both Disney related ;)

The kids look so cute in their costumes!!

Thank you :)

Boy trying to find Fall-ish movies has been a little rough for me. When I think of Fall, I think of apples and apple picking so Apple Dumpling Gang was settled for our first Fall movie.

It started with apple picking at a local farm...these apples were HUGE!

And then had dinner and watched The Apple Dumpling Gang. The kids got a kick out of the ladder scene with Theodore and Amos, they were cracking up.

My first apple dumpling attempt...yum!

apple dumpling gang! I haven't seen that in years! good choice!

the apple picking looks fun and the dumplings look yummy! DH made something sort of like that awhile ago, but he just cored the apples and then filled them with a cinnamon sugar delicious mixture and then wrapped them in dough to bake. I don't know, but they were wonderful!

another movie night success, i'd say!

It was a fun choice for us. I wasn't sure how long it would hold the kids' attentions but they did pretty good.

Sounds like he made apple dumplings too. Agree, they are wonderfully delicious!

Hi! I'm joining in :wave2:

I love your movie night ideas. We're going in April and I was planning on doing a Disney movie night every week to build the excitement over the trip. I also want them to recognize all the characters and appreciate the theming.

I even started a thread earlier today to try to get more ideas of things we can do together to get ready for the trip but no responses so far. :sad1: But reading through your report has given me some new ideas. Looking forward to reading more.

SOunds like a fun day and night!!! :)

It was a lot of fun, not quite as much fun as you were having. Looking forward to reading your TR.

Hi :welcome: so glad you are here!

Yay, I love movie nights so much, so I like hearing that others are doing them too. I hope you will be posting them in your PTR, I will be checking that out.

Movie nights definitely help with character recognition, before our trip to DL, I had my kids watching all sorts of Disney movies so that they'd appreciate it more. Totally works! This time they have pretty much seen everything so I am trying to throw some really old ones in there that I know they haven't seen.

I am sorry to hear you weren't getting responses on your thread but very glad my PTR helped you some :) Hopefully you have gotten some responses now.

Thanks again for joining in!

Okay I have to share the most exciting news first...we have finally made it out of the 300's in our countdown :cool1: It feels so awesome to see a 200 number as opposed to a 300. It's the little things ;)

On to our movie night...Pocahontas felt like a very Fall type movie to me and we did a Thanksgiving type meal for it. I didn't mind, 2 Thanksgiving meals in the same month, sold.

We had another special guest joining us, my nephew.

I was excited to make the Ratcliffe hat cookies, but my yellow frosting to make the buckle, just was not cooperating. They were still the kids' favorite part, so I guess it didn't matter in the end.

This week our movie is not related to Fall in any way, but my daughter has been bugging me for a Frozen movie and I am trying to push it out a little longer to either December or January. So we will have a fun movie night for my daughter this week.

Your kids are so cute!!

Good call on double thanksgiving meals this month; turkey and mashed potatoes are my fave! The dinner looks!

I'm with DD on the Frozen movie night! I don't think I'd be able to wait either!

Congrats on being under 300 days!! We're going close to the same time as your family and it can't come fast enough!

Awe, thank you!

LOL, DD is so funny. Her brother got his night already (Captain America) and she is dying for her movie. I think I will have to do it in December. Such a mean Mommy making her wait.

Agreed...It does need to hurry up!

I might have to steal your idea for our first Disney movie night. Pocahontas was on my short list because it's on Netflix and we haven't seen it. I love how you take the movie and build the whole evening around the theme. That's so creative and way past my capabilities. ;) You're right, it totally fits with this time of year. Looking at the Disney movies on Netflix there are so many xmas themed movies it will take me through the holidays. :santa:

Steal away :) You should see how involved some other amazing DISers get, they even have crafts that go with the movie. I try to keep mine simple and within budget. I could go much more into it, but I need to save that money for our trip ;)
Yes, Netflix rocks for Disney movies. That's where I get a lot of our movies for our movie nights from. They do have many Christmas selections to choose from.
Please post pictures of your first family night on your PTR, I'd love to see them!
