When you use an AP discount, does the whole vacation have to fall in the timeframe of the discount, or just the checkin day like other discounts? We would like to go to WDW in September, and we have an AP, but would like to go towards the end of the month. Any help would be appreciated!

The discounted rate must fall within the time period specified for that specific code. For example May 1-5 for the "ABC" AP code. You arrive on Sunday the 5th with the discounted rate but Monday the 6th will not be discounted. Sometimes the hotels will convert this when you arrive and give you the same right for your entire stay. It all depends on the CM you get. So there are no guarantees.

From my experiences....whatever the rate is on the day you check in is the rate for the entire stay.
I assumed this was the same for AP rates too and have not heard anything different. But this year will be the first time I will use an AP rate.
Anyone else been quoted 2 different rates for their stay??????
If they did they would have to have 2 different reservation #s.

So...conversely....if the rate is higher on the day of check in, then changes during your stay...you can have a second res.# to get the discounted rate.
For example....regular season into value. OR if you are checking in on June 19th staying til the 29th.....with the new discount code that begins on the 23rd....they will give you a new reservation # for the 23rd - 29th.

In December 2001, we had the $49 AP rate at All Star Movies. We checked in Dec 15 - we checked out on Dec 28. Our AP rate ended on Dec 25 and we had to pay rack rate for the last 3 nights. WDW would not give us the AP rate after the 25th which was when the AP rates ended.

We used an AP rate last christmas for the Poly. The rate expired on 12/25, which was the day we checked in. We received the AP rate for our entire stay, without asking. I believe the rate expired if you were staying at a value resort, but if you're at a moderate or a deluxe you can get the rate for your entire stay. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

We have stayed at Disney resorts 3 times using an AP discount. Two out of the 3 times we were not even asked for our AP card. Maybe it's in their computer system. ???
