For people who actually LIKE to watch MK parades...

The Festival of Fantasy parade has changed my strategy a bit. For MSEP, I generally watch it from Frontierland. I do this because we can generally get a good spot there as little as 15 - 20 minutes before the parade, and then it is a quick walk over to the hub area for the projection show, and Wishes.

Festival of Fantasy, however, requires a different strategy. The dragon doesn't breathe fire through Frontierland, and that, at least to me, is a significant part of the parade, so for that parade, we try to see it out near the hub, or on Main Street. I'm not really one for sitting an hour waiting for a parade, so we tend to try to wander up just as the parade is arriving, and get as good a spot as we can for the Festival of Fantasy parade.

If you are going in August I would not watch FOF parade with fastpass+. We had fp+ for this spring last year on a hot sunny day and we were melting. My kids were so miserable sitting with no relief from the sun. Also, we showed up at the beginning of our fp+ time and ended up having to sit behind people as it had already filled up for guests at the curb. If you want good seats you still have to get there pretty early. Would not waste a fp+ on this again, and would definitely not choose this parade spot on a sunny afternoon. We like frontierland, or have showed up last minute and watched from the start of main street before and had good spots.

First of all...LOVE your name! Are you a Gator? I graduated from UF in 1998. Secondly, thanks for the tips. I have a weird question: did you feel the "ambiance" of Liberty Square/Frontierland changed how you felt about the parade? I've only watched from Main Street. THANKS!

I have nothing to add except Go Gators! I graduated from UF in 2002.

Also, this is such great info. We never think of the parades until it's nearly time, then we scramble for anywhere we can find and usually end up frustrated.

We are going in late March so weather should be nice but could be all over the place. I think we will try for a FP one day but we have great back up plans thanks to all of you! Also I think the train station or right at the train station/front of the park sounds perfect for Main Street Electrical Parade. We might make it up to see the first one if it is at nine and we take a long break during the day. Thanks again!!!!

This picture is from Thanksgiving week last year and strollers were allowed. We had plenty of room. I'm pretty sure the FP area has changed with all the contruction lately so maybe someone who has been more recently can comment.
