For My Fellow Harry Potter Fans……

I have only seen the first three films, haven't read the books, and even I know that Voldy wanted Harry dead to prevent Harry from killing Voldy. The parents were only protecting Harry. I have no idea if I learned this from three movies or from cultural osmosis.

PS - My plan is to rewatch the first three films and continue onward. Ever since I tested positive as Slytherin in the HP test, I also knew that the filmmakers were trying to sully the Slytherin name. That's a lot of nerve thinking all Slytherin are villains. The kind of nerve that makes me want to see Griffyndorks fall into an empty hotel pool, the kind of falling that happens because I had pushed them!
to quote Sirius in Prisoner of Azkaban - brilliant, Snape, once again you’ve put your keen and penetrating mind to the task and as usual come to the wrong conclusion.

Ugh, I really want to see this but don't want to pay for HBO. We got rid of direct TV a couple of years ago and now I feel like we are being nickel and dimed by Netflix et al.

I didn't watch it...because they were too mean to J.K. Rowling. But I have read the entire book series three times, and I own all the movies on DVD, so have watched them a bunch of times, and...I have an entire bedroom done up full Potter style with Pottery Barn stuff. (DD just gave me the Phoenix mirror for Christmas.)
I'm a fan! lol ☺

I wondered why they called it Potter-y Barn…

I enjoyed the special. I liked hearing from the directors, especially Columbus and his stress at putting this beloved franchise on screen for the first time. I also liked learning about the relationships between actors. HBC was a hoot! I don’t follow celebrity lives off-screen, so it was interesting to hear from them in this setting. I’ve always thought of Emma Watson as just adorable, but found her a bit pretentious (I can’t put my finger on why). Rupert Grint was as likable as his character, and Daniel Radcliffe seems like a sincere and wonderful guy!

You'd be wrong. But I'd have to say this is typical Slytherin thinking so the test was on point with you.

The truth of the matter has already been retconned by the fan fiction of young Stewart Bronwyn of New Hampshire. Only true Potter fans follow the prose of The Bronwynator over Rowling these days. He's taking wizardry fiction to new places- are you only now just hearing about this?

I actually took two tests, one said I was Gryffindor. After reading about both houses, I prefer Slytherin. Gryffindor are hot-headed, oafish show-offs who don't put much thought into their decisions. Slytherin are ambitious and resourceful, and often the target of stereotyping by those belonging to lesser houses. Typical indeed!

Sorry, I'm a 59 year old who would never bother which such stuff as fan fiction. Not interested in the slightest.

Does this mean you'd be against my own foray into fanfiction, say, a rousing romance involving The Pillsbury Doughboy and the Morton Salt Girl? It's bittersweet.
Yes, sadly, I would say no to that. Actually I can't imagine ANY circumstance where I would want to read random stories written on the internet.

I hated the movies, so I haven't watched this. I bought the movies in case my boys wanted to watch them. I love the books though. Well except for Order of the Phoenix. That book sucked!

After seeing an Instagram clip of him jumping around on a stage singing "She'll be riding six white horses when she comes", my mind is disturbed.

I stumbled upon this one too. I made sure to traumatize as many friends possible!!!! 😁

I loved that clip! Almost started watching Miracle Workers because of it, but I watch very little in the way of TV series.

Nope, don't believe that story.
The actual answer is political and not appropriate for this forum.

I’d be more inclined to think it was a story if it didn’t come from her PR team. I won’t let it stop me from enjoying what the actors and directors have to say about their time creating these films, but to each his own. Take care.
