? for Michiganders who have been to Niagara/Toronto lately or local Canadians

I grew up in the Detroit area, so, of course, I love Coney Island hot dogs. I haven't lived in MI for nearly 10 years now. DH and I are going to Niagara/Toronto for a vacation in a few weeks. My last visit to Niagara was with my parents when I was in the 3rd grade. This would have been somewhere around 1978. I remember that we ate at a really good Coney Island - my moved raved about it for a long time afterwards - on that trip. Does anyone know if this restaurant still exists? I would kill to get my hands (and mouth) on some really good dogs and chili fries.

Wow! I guess I'm the only one on the boards who loves Coney Dogs.

Not sure what Coney Island Hot Dogs are, but I grew up in that area and have been to NF's many times.

The only Hot Dogs I can think of that are good are the "Street Dogs" from the vending carts all over downtown Toronto. DH used to dine on them daily when he worked DT.

You might want to post over on the Canadian Board. I know there are a few from Niagara Falls there, maybe they can help with the specific restaurant.

If you are going to Niagara, be sure to check out the new Casino. It's really nice. I left a few dollars there a few weeks ago!

The only Coney Island Hot Dogs I know of are in NY City. Anybody else from the Falls area or Canada know about this?

Nope. They're not dogs from the carts or related in any way to Coney Island in NY. I guess its something that only Michigan folks would know about. Thanks for trying guys.

Lisa, I'm looking for one in Niagara. I know there was one there in the late 70's. It was just like the ones at "home" in Detroit.
