For lower crowds, which should I choose?

Planning 1st trip to DLR with DH and I for end of May. I can't decide if we should go May 29th - June 2nd (over Memorial Day weekend) or May 31st - June 4th. (after Memorial day, but SoCal APs are not blocked out). Which timeframe would have less crowds?

Any help is appreciated! :goodvibes

You can't go a week earlier..........before the big crowds? I guess not, or you would.

Going during the week is always better than a weekend. You are starting to get into summer tourist crowds, but most of the locals still have kids in school. I'd say your second option is probably better.

Unfortunately, my week off can only be the week starting with May 31st. Not much to work with on that, I guess.

I'm starting to get scared... :scared: If that is the only time I can go, is it even going to be worth it? Are crowds that bad?

I live in SoCal and my kids are in school until mid June. We are going in mid May, however, because my husband will deploy before school is out for them. I've never been to Disney, but I do think most of the schools will still be in around here.

I think one thing people forget is that when the SoCal passes are not blocked, DL is generally expected to be less busy. Sure more Passholders might come. Perhaps spring break is not a good example but bear with me. You'd much rather go this week (during the week) than last week (when SoCals were blocked).

So non-blocked days are not always bad. High season/times are just that, no blockout day is going to make it feel like the lower times.

What Raindown said. The only time you really need to worry about passholders is generally the week before blockouts begin (which isn't until June 22 for Select and July 2 for Southern CA), right after blockouts end, on Friday evenings, and Sundays. Any crowds you might experience the week after Memorial day will most likely be the start of summer tourist crowds, not AP holder crowds. Go and have fun!
