The Grand Floridian Resort's Royal Palm Club is back to its pre-2015 first-rate status; in fact, thanks to its new food & beverage overseer (SH of V&A!) it's even better.

Due to many concerns expressed by guests (via Disboards, mail, online reviews and in-person discussions) the GFR responded accordingly. Our last visit in April was disappointing; however, this visit is so much better.

"Regulars" will understand!

All the best!

How so ? Our last visit in Feb. did not wow us at all and we happily returned to the BWI CL and the wonderful staff that they have. In years past we were RPC regulars but had been staying away so more specifics would be great. Pictures wouldn't hurt either! :)

Mumm Napa sparkling wine is back!
Food items don't run out anymore (an unacceptable aspect of months ago).
Small samplings of new food offerings are excellent.
Hard boiled eggs are embellished with bacon
Yogurts are served in small cups (nicely displayed) rather than the former large boarding house-like bowls.
Two hot dishes remain.
Breakfast and Twighlight Refreshers times are fully staffed.
How's that for a few specifics?

That's awesome! We just booked for GF Club Level this morning and I was a bit concerned after reading reviews, but it sounds like it is going to be amazing!! Do they still do the afternoon tea with scones and biscuit-type items? There was rumor that the evening cordials were now just beer and wine; do they offer any hard liquor? Thanks for your review and help.

So excited to hear! We'll be there in 85 days, but who's counting? :upsidedow

Tonight at Twighlight Refreshers: besides two hot items - roasted red pepper hummus with crispy pits chip, chilled carrot ginger soup, and shrimp edcabeche!

Oh, every morning: vegetarian quiche!

All the best!

Are these the same pecan sticky buns that they took away a year or two ago?

Different. larger, warmed and a slightly better quality.

We are at tea time right now: new quality breads are offered, too!

Thanks for the info. Could it be that Disney is listening to it's loyal customers? One can only hope!

Indeed! A couple of managers confirmed WDW's response to a great number of complaints and concerns from its "loyal customers."

Great to hear, thanks! We are not regulars, but rather our first RPC visit was last Easter and even though I heard about lots of cutbacks, it was still wonderful to me (because I didn't know what it used to be). So now I'm even more excited for our next stay there! I'll be following along in this thread if you have any more information/news for us! Thanks so much!

Management's earlier approach seemingly focused on first-time club level guests who would not be able to compare and contrast what the Royal Palm Club experience had been.

For veteran guests, the low points included cheap wine offerings, limited food servings and the thinly-sliced msg roll disguised as turkey. We expressed our concerns to appropriate individuals...and waited. Our current GFR stay is a manifestation of "hope springs eternal."

"Twilight Refreshers" await in an hour!

All the best!

Tonight st Twighlight Refreshers a number of superb dishes; wonderful stuffed potato salad (a chef informed us that the potatoes were steamed rather than boiled in order to keep them from being too mushy) and spring rolls which were not overdone as they have been in the past. Thanks to the SH of V&A touch, an Irish cheddar was able to be embellished with natural honeycomb! This worked extremely well with Mumm Napa cuvée M. Oh, and there was more.

All the best!

This is all very interesting/good to hear. Our only RPC stay was this past Feb/March and while it was good, it didn't wow me or seem to match the reviews/enthusiasm you tend to read here. I thought maybe it was just me. Thank you for posting.

Awesome to hear! I'm thinking about my 50th birthday, and this may turn the tables back to the GF! It's been years, and it may be worth another visit! I just couldn't justify the rising rack rates for what they offered.

Yay - that's great news!! We are in RPC for the second part of our trip next month and this has made me even more excited.
