Does anyone from Calgary know if they offer direct flights to Orlando in May? If so, what airline? I have checked both Air Canada and Westjet and can not seem to come up with a direct flight. I thought they were offering direct flights from Calgary now? Or is that only seasonal? We were originally going to go next October but tonight DH says why don't we look at going in May - hey who am I to argue!! ;)

We booked direct with Air Canada for flights in February. May is out of the high travel season so you may have trouble flying direct. You can go to a multi-fly site like expedia.ca or travelocity.ca just see if any other airlines might be flying direct. eg: american or alaska.

West Jet in February

I have a friend that works for WestJet and apparently they do direct flights (on certain days) from Calgary to Orlando. Sometimes you can get a cheap flight, other times it can run you $400/person one-way. If you check westjet's website for flights in January and Februrary you can see which days the direct flights are on. I can't remember exactly how to do it, but you can play around and see what flights are available for which days of the week. There is a good chance that WestJet hasn't updated their flights for May yet but keep checking. I'll be checking here shortly and I'll let you know if the direct flights are out yet.

As you can see below we're going in May but we're flying with United. $600 CDN/person round-trip. We have a brief layover in Denver each way but nothing too bad. I think we leave here in Calgary at 6:30 a.m. and arrive in Orlando at 3:30 p.m. which isn't too bad. The next time that I talk to my friend that works at westjet I'll ask him what the deal is with the direct flights. In the meantime I'd keep checking if I were you!

Alright after checking WestJet's website it looks like they have direct flights each way on Sunday's, Tuesday's and Thursday's. They leave here in Calgary noonish and arrive in Orlando around 7 p.m. On the way back they leave Orlando around 5:45 p.m. and arrive here in Calgary around 11:30 p.m. If you ask me these flights arent too bad! The ones that I was looking at cost: $337 CDN Calgary to Orlando and $130 Orlando to Calgary. All rolled up this cost is about $467 before taxes and all of that other airport garbage. After everything was said and done the cost would be $587/person round trip. That's with the seat sale, if it was regular prices each way you'd be looking at $832/person roundtrip. Hope this helps!

Thanks bdtracey, i'll enter my tentative dates and see what I can come up with. I appreciate you taking the time to look into that
