I would LOVE to hear how your trip went.
How long did you go?

Did you drive and if so how long?

How did the baby do?

What time of year did you go?

Any special things you did?

What sort of things did you take?

Any special tips or advice I would love to hear it.


We are going Sept 30-Oct 8. We will have our 3 1/2 year old son with us and then the new baby who will be around 6 weeks old. (induction is set to be around Aug 20th if everything goes well)

SOOO... I really could use some tips. We went round and round with if we should go or not but finally made up our minds and booked and we are sooo looking foward to it now. I am still just a bit nervous with how the new baby will do so I would love to hear from anyone else who has been crave enough to try it that young.

We took my daughter at 2 months (well, it was a week before she turned 3 months actually) and she was great.

We flew from DC (2.5 hours or so) and she was fine on the flight. We got her a seat and she fell asleep before the plane took off (in her carseat) and I brought a bottle of pumped milk with me and gave her that when we were landing and she had no ear trouble. Though at 2yo she doesn't eat or drink anything during landing and she's fine now too.

Our trip was May 19-25 so I'm guessing the weather will be around the same for you (we were there 9/30-10/3 last year). It was hot, but Madison never seemed to hot and I wore her in a Baby Bjorn all day. She was actually cooler in that than she was in the stroller, sweat-wise that is. I kept a thin receiving blanket draped over the back of the Bjorn and it covered her legs and arms from the sun and kept the Bjorn cooler (cause it was white then instead of black). She also wore a sunhat with a visor and neckflap and was slathered in sunblock (which her ped said was fine). Like that she stayed totally shaded from the sun all day.

We went to the baby centers about once a day or so so that she could get some time to play in the ac. I'd give her some tummy time on their changing tables, then nurse and change her before going back into the parks. It was easier than heading back to the room all the time and was a nice break for me too. Other than that, if we were not near the baby centers then I nursed her in a dark attraction about every 2 hours.

That's about all I can think of. Oh, well, I brought her sleep positioner with us and was very happy that I did cause the pack n play that they gave us at the GF was incredibly 'used'-very shaky and old. They also gave us a queen size bedsheet for it and said they were out of pack n play sheets. So I took a bed for me and her and my husband was in the other bed and I put her in the sleep positioner cause I felt it was safer than their sketch pack n play. She slept in a cosleeper at home and sometimes in our bed so it wasn't a huge stretch for me, but just want you to be away that we really couldn't use our pack n play so if sleeping with you isn't an option then bring your own sleep space.

Have fun on your trip, I'm sure it will be the easiest one you'll have with 2 kids for awhile!

DD first trip wasa t 1.5 weeks. We flew from Wa state with her on our laps, thankfully she slept the majority of the 6(+/-) hour flight. I packed plenty of bottle and offered her them at takeoff/landing and in between. I found that bringing extra Similac and Enfamile single serving powder packets to be a good back up as we ran out of bottles midflight on the way home (delayed flight + fussy baby = bottles used).

We brought our Evenflo stoller and Snugglie front pack and used those throughout the entire trip. Very few resturants have infant highchairs and few allow strollers so DH usually ate his meal with her in the front pack sound asleep. This worked for us oer the next few months on various trips.

We stayed at the WL and asked for a pack n play but were unsure about it as it too looked old. So instead we fashioned a comfpy bed for her and layed her in her stroller at nights. No complaints there as we were able to wheel her up next to the bed like a co-sleeper.

We went in mid March and the weather was warm and rainy. We hung out in the shade a lot as well as occassionally misted her. When it rained we placed a poncho over the stroller and checked on her often. Remember to ALWAYS leave your stroller covered if you're at the parks on a rainy day! We forgot to do it and our stroller was relocated (by a castmember) from an overhang area to the "new/overflow" stroller parking where it was left in the rain. Whenw e returned from the attractio it was soaked! Oh, and we kept her in a bonnet and sunscreen (dr. ok'd).

Utilize the baby care centers for nursing or diaper changes. They are nice, cool, and quiet. All of the nursing stations (except MGMs) were nice, and all had decent changing facilities. DD and I spent a bunch of time there that trip.

This was probably our easiet trip to the parks yet! Caolyn slept most of the time and when she was awake took in the vibrant colors. She wasn't a fussy baby, more a go with te flow type. I do think that we packed too much for the trip. DH, SIL, and I carried way too many things to the hotel. We had the stroller, carseat (for the van ride...only time used), 2 diaper bags (big one for flight, small one for parks), a ton of clothing and sleepers for her (should ahve just taken time to wash them mid trip as we were tere for 10 days), 1.5 packs of diapers, wipes, 2 cans of formula, my breastpump, then all of our clothes. If I would have planned ahead I might have mailed some of the items down before hand.

A trip with a little one isn't too difficlt. Just go at their pace or atleast one slower than normal. Also utilize fastpass or babyswap on rides. Any castmember can brief you on that, but ti's a ncie option.

I took my DD when she was 2 and a half months old. I drove with her and her 20 month old brother by myself from NYC. I had to stop a lot for feedings and the like but it was a great trip.
