We usually buy our discount Kennywood tickets from Giant Eagle, but our local AAA has a better deal - $20.99 per ticket. I'm assuming all AAA offices have the tickets. Ours got them in a couple of days ago.

Thanks! Are these like the GE tickets that are good on weekdays but require a premium to be paid on the weekend?

We buy our tickets through our school district for $20

We are about 40 minutes west of pittsburgh

No, they are good on weekends too. The actual tickets say they are valid on the following dates:

May 2, 9, 10, May 13-August 25, August 29-30, September 5-7, 12-13, 19-20.

AAA also has discount tickets for Idlewild, Sandcastle, Hershey, & Sesame Place.

I am 40 minutes west of Pittsburgh too! But, my oldest won't start kindergarten until fall, so I don't have that option. Do the parochial schools sell them too? Or just public?

OP ~ Which branch did you find them at? I've called 3 branches and none of them have any tickets this year? :confused3 I tried to order them online & it says for Ohio Residents only.

Just wanted to say we have family in Pittsburgh and have visited Kennywood many times - fabulous place! Love it!

Great! I need to call my AAA and see if they have them. I love Kennywood now!

I found them at the Weirton, WV branch. I guess it could be an out-of-state offer. It was in our regional AAA newsletter too - I thought we were in the same AAA region as PA, but maybe not.

In case anyone comes to the Weirton branch to purchase tickets, I thought I should also mention that they require cash for payment.

Thanks. I might just stick with Giant Eagle - $23 isn't that bad...I was just hoping to get some use out of my AAA Membership ;) Looks like the deal may be for Non-PA residents. If anyone finds out otherwise, please post back here.

Thanks Again! :thumbsup2

I went back to the Weirton AAA office today to buy discount Idlewild tickets and discovered that with each Idlewild ticket purchased for $20, you get a Sandcastle ticket for free. Depending on where you are, this deal might be worth a trip to Weirton...
