Be advised that it may take quite a bit longer to get to Orlando than anticipated, if you are travelling by train....my DB-in-L and his family left out of Newark on Friday morning at 9AM, and didn't arive at Orlando until 5PM yesterday :earseek:....they had roughly 36 stops!! :rolleyes2

Thats good to know. We were thinking if there was a strike to take Amtrak back to New York. I thought it was only 24 hours.

...that's what my Sis-in-L thought too! She was NOT a 'happy camper' last night... :confused3

kimmar was there some kind of unusal problem? It takes 21 hrs from Philadelphia to Orlando normally. It sounds like there was some kind of problem on the tracks. I know one time for us a train ahead of us (freight) derailed and we were delayed several hours but that is the only time we ever had a long delay.

I don't know....DH and I were talking yesterday afternoon, thinking that they had arrived by 9AM [at LEAST]....he had talked to his brother, and the conversation led him to believe that they WERE in Fla already...he had mentioned something about going to the real estate office (they rented a 5BR house) to pick up the keys [and such], so we thought that they had already arrived in Orlando. This morning my DH was talking to his mom, sho said that my DH's [and my DB-in-L] sister, who is house-and-dog-sitting, mentioned how MAD my Sis-in-L was when she called at 5:30 to ask about the dogs, and they had just arrived a bit earlier.....she slao said that she would NEVER take the train again....

Sure hope it was a fluke since I sure don't want to spend that long going down. Coming home wouldn't be as bad but going down would be like slow torture since I can't wait to get there.
