I know I've read a few threads on here about people really disgruntled with their Disney Visa interest rates.
Count my wife and I in among the disgruntled! My wife made a call in January to get a lower interest rate. They went from 25% to 24%. She was thinking about it again today and called back. She got a VERY helpful agent who explained to her the situation.
The system is programmed to have the agent only lower the interest rate that teeny portion. They can't go any lower. It's the next part that's awful. The hope is you'll get just lazy or forgetful enough to not call back. The system then believes you're happy with that insult of a lower interest rate. So it settles you into that rate.
You must call back in six months time to request a lower interest rate again. Then and ONLY then will their systems see you as "serious" about getting a lower interest rate.
The ONLY reason I'm keeping the stupid thing is because we don't carry a balance and we like the Disney Rewards. And yes - I know other cards offer better rewards. But right now our rewards are looking at buying my family our Halloween Party tickets, Disney Dining Experience cards for both my wife and I with some left over.
But I thought I'd share for those of you who, like me, are just nuts enough to keep the thing despite their underhanded, sneaky business tactics.
