We are very similar. Most of our trips are Wed to Mon or Thurs to Tues so lots of weekend nights. Sometimes my DH and I have a one bedroom and sometimes a studio. Depends on where we're staying, the season (Dec is much cheaper in points than Easter), etc. When we're at AKV concierge in a few weeks, I didn't see a need for a one bedroom. I won't be using the kitchen at all since breakfast will be in the concierge lounge. In October, we booked a quick weekend trip to BWV to try F&W festival for the first time (Friday to Tuesday). We booked a studio for that, too. It's DH and myself and we are empty nesters. It's because we use most of our points for 5 night family vacations, when DH and I go ourselves we almost always stay in studios. We eat most breakfasts in the room, and if we have a car, we may buy enough food for some additional meals as well. We do not feel short changed in any way at all by staying in studios. I enjoy the balconyWe've been members since '03.
Since we both work, I think the fact that our stays nearly always include a Friday or Saturday night, that does affect our decision to stay in studios. Our upcoming BCV stay is from Wednesday to Monday for me, but only the weekend for DH.

We didn't buy DVC to stay in studios. Even if it is just the 2 of us, we get at least a 1 bedroom. This is especially true if we are going to be staying more than a couple days. We didn't buy DVC to stay in a hotel room, and that's what we feel the studios are.
