FOP Fastpass Modify Strategy

My Fastpass day is slowly approaching and I have a question regarding my AK day. If I see a FOP Fastpass time slot that doesn't really work for me, should I just grab it and hope to modify it? Or, grab a Na'vi River time slot that does work for me, and hope to modify that to FOP?
This is all wishful thinking on my part, I have low expectations for a FOP Fastpass.

Grab any that are avalible cloest to the time you want then try to modify it. I started with FOP and SDD for my second week as these go first and was able to get the times I wanted for both. Next i did my first week got FOP but not at the time I really wanted but can make it work and no SDD . I may have gotten my first weeks choice if i had been able to sign in ok but it took me 30 mins as the system was playing up.

I would grab FOP at any time available and adjust my day to make that FP work.

FOP is awesome, Navi isn’t worth the FP (personal opinion).

You take a FOP FP when you can get it. what day of your trip is it? That makes all the difference.

If you find a FoP fp, grab it immediately and then cluster the other 2 around it if possible. Even at 60 days, it is tough to get the time you truly want. Demand is still very high.

I would plan an entire trip around a FOP FP....seriously. It's that worth it. Grab whatever you can, try to modify it, but keep it if you can't and make it work.

What everyone else has said. In my experience, it's much easier to get any given FP when you have one for that ride at any time of day and then try to modify it to exactly when you want. Starting totally from scratch without a FP at all is much harder.
