FOP at park close

How late do the CMs allow you to get in line for FOP before park closing? We arrive at 6 pm and are taking ME to CSR and immediately going to FoP. I was unable to get FP for our stay but I thought we could get to AK before the 8:30 park closing and could get on the ride.

You can get in line right up unit park close and will allowed to ride no matter how long the line is. They will close the gate the moment the clock hits 8:30.
