Going to WDW in 3 weeks and need a little bit of help on what to get my 2 sons to wear on their feet! while walking round the parks! I was thinking trainers, do you think that'll be ok? They are 10 and 12 and are far too cool for sandels !!!! There words not mine ! :cool1:

Thank You

My son (12) wears trainers - they're probably the best thing to wear for the amount of walking that is done.

yes, I second trainers.. the most comfortable couple of pairs that you have would be best.

The only time trainers are not great is in a complete downpour as they take a while to dry out.. (thats where sandals or crocs are great as they dry out straight away!)
but other than that they are good.

personally, I find trainers a bit warm to walk around in, and prefer my crocs, but they are comfy!

You can't get me out of my trainers! I love them and all the times i have been to wdw i have found they are the comfiest for walking around the parks but you definatly need a pair of sanals in the water parks though as in june/july the floor is very hot and you end up sprinting to the water and having blisters on your feet (i've learnt from expeience!) Even my brother (16)doesn't mind wearing sandals to save his feet from the scorching sand!
Hope you find the advice your looking for!

Would definitely agree with the above.

My DS (13) wears trainers round the parks and sandals/water shoes at the water parks.

DS & DD were quite happy in trainers (me too). The only thing (which is obvious really) - make sure they are you old comfy well worn ones. We usually take our old ones for the miles we cover in the parks and new ones for less strenuous days.

Mpet :thumbsup2

Would they consider wearing the sandal style that is like a trainer on the base and top with cut away bits? Best of both worlds!

I like this type as they are comfy but offer support to my feet on those arduous ;) days in the parks :)

:thumbsup2 Make sure whatever footwear you take is WELL broken in before you get there!! There's nothing like blistered feet to ruin a great trip, and if possible make sure that the shoe soles are not wafer thin or every bump and crack will be felt, too, on the bottom of the feet and like previous posters have said take 2 pairs per person of whatever you decide to wear if that makes sense :thumbsup2 Foot spray (non aerosol) is also a good idea to cool off tired feet after long hot days in the parks :goodvibes :goodvibes
Remember bare feet in sandals will still need sun screen you'll be amazed how quick they catch the sun :goodvibes

Mine also wear trainers, and as everyone else has said make sure they are well broken in. It is nice to buy new trainers out there as the prices are good, but it is not a good place to break them in.

Shoes are cheaper in the us especially with the exchange rate at the moment. The comfiest trainers i have found are sketchers which i bought over there the last time we went. I bought them on the first day and wore them the whole holiday, they were great, they didn't need breaking in and they were very comfortable to wear all day in the parks
Hope you get some great advice! :wave2:
