Football Food!! Need More Ideas...

Jalepeno Popper Dip!

So good...everyone loves it..found it online.

Put in the Crockpot--
2 8oz blocks of cream cheese
1/2 cup Sour Cream
1/2 cup of REAL MAYO (do not use m-whip!)
1 pk (8oz) of Feista Cheese (or any cheese ..doesnt really matter)
2 small cans of Green Chillies (drained)
and jalepenos..as many as you see fit!

I usually serve this with Fritos Scoops. It tastes the best!

Walking tacos--not exactly health food, but VERY tasty & popular.

Make up enough taco meat--about 1lb/4 people.

Set out meat, shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, chopped tomatoes, sour cream and any salsa/taco sauce/hot sauce you like.

Get at least two small bags of Doritos or Fritos per person. Grab an assortment of flavors--nacho, Cool Ranch, spicy, chili cheese, etc.

Have guests open their chips and squeeze the bag to crumble them a bit. Put meat and toppings directly in the bag and shake to combine. Eat directly out of the chip bags with forks. Yum!

Wow-that's a ton of ingredients! I hope it's good. From the looks of the reviews, it's awesome.

CHILI!!:cool1:

Here is my absolute favorite recipe:

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Boilermaker-Tailgate-Chili/Detail.aspx

It gets rave reviews every time I make it. I omit the celery and add an extra can of tomato paste. I also prepare it the night before, let it sit in the refrigerator overnight then put it in the crockpot the next morning and let it cook all day. It makes many servings. Yummo!

Buffalo Chicken Dip, definitely. People go crazy for it.

My husband usually makes pulled pork in the slow cooker and we make sandwiches with cole slaw on top.

Also like to have taco salad.

I made these last weekend for football & they were a hit

Chicken Bacon Bites

3 boneless, skinless, chicken breasts
1 (1-pound) package sliced bacon
2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons chili powder

Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes. Cut each bacon slice into thirds. Wrap each chicken cube with bacon and secure with a tooth pick.
Dump brown sugar and chili powder in a large bowl. Toss chicken bites in bowl & coat them well. Dump it all into a large ziploc bag being careful not to poke the picks thru the bag, or leave in a big bowl & cover. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours up to 24 hours. I love to make these the night before & let them really marinate.
Pre heat the oven to s 350 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with tinfoil & place a reck over the sheet & spray with Pam . Place chicken bites on rack. Bake 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or until bacon is crisp. If it's not crisp enough I turn to broil & broil a few minutes watching to make sure it doesn't burn.

Yesterday I made the Bufflalo Chicken dip & that too was a big hit.

Another favorite is Tyler Florence's Chili Cheese Dogs

Ingredients
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 pound lean ground beef
1 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 tablespoon prepared yellow mustard
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
hot dos
hot dog rolls
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar

To make the chili: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. When the oil gets hazy, add the onion and cook, stirring, until they are soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the ground beef, breaking it up with the back of a spoon, and cook until nicely browned, about 10 minutes. Stir in the ketchup, chili powder, and mustard; simmer for 15 minutes until thick; season with salt and pepper.
To serve, top each hot dog with the chili and some Cheddar cheese

walking tacos!!! All the same ingredients but buy lots of the small fritos bags, cut open on the top and spoon ingredients into them, eat with a spoon! oops, someone beat me to it. At least you know they're popular.

Thanks!! That is sooo cool, I will try making it... dumb question... do you bake it in a loaf pan?... at what temp and for how long? I have been cooking for 30 years, but have never made bread. :confused3

Oops I'm sorry! Yes, a 9x13 loaf pan. 350 for 1 hour. Check it in the middle, if it's not done give it a few more minutes but it should be good.

You can also put cheese on top but I figure the bread is enough calories so I don't :lmao:

You can use a bottle beer, can, light whatever, just make sure it's 12oz. You can even use non alcoholic. Put everything in a bowl, just mix until combined and pop into a greased pan. You don't need to let it rise or anything, it will do it all in the oven. It gets nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

The Rotel and popper dip recipes on this thread sound great!

Funny, I told DH yesterday that I'd like to make a bunch of cocktail foods tomorrow and have that instead of Sunday dinner, in honor of the Jets making it this far into the play-offs. He's silly enough to think the Jets might win, so he thinks it's a good idea. :lmao:

I make stuffed breads. For a while I was playing around with making my own yeast dough, but I've lost my patience for that. My supermarket sells one pound bags of pizza dough for $1.

To make pepperoni bread, I take one of those pizza doughs, flour it, and roll it thin. I cover it with deli-sliced pepperoni, then half of an 8 oz. bag of shredded pizza blend cheese. I add a sprinkling of shredded Reggiano Parmagiana. I roll the whole thing up on the short side (so that it comes out long like French bread). Then I seal it with a beaten egg mixed with a spoon of water. I flip it seam side down onto a baking tray lined with Reynolds No-Stick foil, no-stick side up. I cut slashes one inch apart diagonally across the top, then brush the whole thing with the remaining egg.

Bake for about a half-hour at 350 and let it cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. You can heat up some tomato sauce and serve it on the side. My son and his friends go crazy for this stuff and eat it so fast, I don't know where it goes.

These are all easy to prepare the day before: pepperoni bread, cheddar cheese bread, and marinated fava beans.
