Foot Care

I had to post. Because of the boards, on my honeymoon in June I got no blisters! Zero! This is what I did. I brought two pairs of shoes and alternated. I used Blistershield (the roll-on), I put moleskin on my known problem areas, then I put a pair of nylon footies on(I really think these were the difference maker), and then wore Coolmax socks that I got from Target. I had no problems at all. I even stopped wearing the moleskin, because I didn't need it.

I also bought those expensive Blister bandaids, but I didn't use them either! :)

Thank you DIS!!

Of course this doesn't help with the water problem! It didn't rain at all while we were there, but I had planned that it would after going the previous August (where it rained every day). I carried a pair of flip-flops with me. As long as I don't wear them for too long, I don't have any problems with them.

I'll add my vote for the socks with cool max in them, and a good fitting, warn in pair of sneakers. In ten trips to WDW I have never had a blister, nor has my DD, and we go commando, from open to close and then hit P.I.

Believe it or not, most adults think they know their shoe size, but in many cases when they actually get their foot measured they are wearing the wrong size. You should ask to have your foot measured EVERY time you buy new shoes. There are many variables that can determine your shoe size, from the manufacturer, weight loss, weight gain, etc.

Also, you might consider spraying your sneakers with a waterproofing spray, sold at most stores that sell footwear. Helps to keep your feet dry, as well as keeping your shoes cleaner as the waterproofing repells dirt and stains!
