Foods that were a "hit" and then kind of fizzled.. Remember any of them?

Jello "Whip & Chill" is about the only one I can think of that's not already been mentioned. It separated into two layers as it started to chill in the fridge, kind of a smooth jello layer on the bottom, then a frothy layer on top.

We can still buy candy cigarettes in Frankenmuth at the candy store. I used to love 'em!!

My kids love Yoo Hoo. We have Ovaltine in the house too. The kids love chocolate milk and at least Ovaltine has some nutritional value.

Anyone remember the chocolate flavored peanut butter -- not nuttella.

There was out fairly recently -- I think Skippy or Jif made it. But there was another about 25 years ago it came in a few flavors but chocolate was my favorite. My grandpa used to buy it for me.

Here's an obscure one, I don't know if anyone remembers: PEPSI Clear! It was clear like water, but tasted JUST like regular pepsi. I loved it!

here's a few others:

Fizz candy (hard candies that fizzed when you got to the middle)

Garbage Pail Kids (I think they're re-issuing them now!)

those small plastic shaped fruits with the powder inside that tasted like the fruit shape it was in.

Coca-Cola the new formula!

Bonomo Turkish Taffy was a favorite of mine too!!! Loved all the fllavors but especially vanilla and banana! You had to smack it on a hard surface so the pieces were small enough to put in your mouth!

I also remember Freckle Face Strawberry but I don't believe it was Kool Aid. I think it was called Funny Face. It was a drink mix that was sold in packages just like Kool Aid. I also remember Loud Mouth Lime and Rootin' Tootin' Raspberry!!

Sure brings back some good memories!! :)

My favorites were Graham Wafer Bars and Koo Koo Bars.

We still have Charleston Chews and Candy Cigarettes (now called candy sticks)

1-2-3 Jello was mixed up like regular jello, but would seperate into three different layers of colors when it cooled. I was only telling my kids about it the other day.

This thread is making me feel very old! :p

I loved Bonomo Turkish Taffy too. That stuff was so hard and sticky it's amazing I have any teeth left!

Some that I remember from when I was young are:

Cool & Creamy Pudding
Great Shake
Spoon Candy
Hula (Pop or Soda)

OMG, my sisters and I were talking not long ago about Bonomo's turkish taffy. Well, I was they couldn't remember it and I thought maybe I was going crazy. But, I'm not! They mentioned it on Foodtv and it is no longer made :( .

How about Pixie Sticks
or Pic-a-nini-gum (remember if you got a yellow gum, you got a prize)

I still use some of this stuff on a regular bases.

Ovaltine- Can't live without absolutly love.

Goober- PB & Jlly mixed. The only one my kids will eat

Jello pudding pops- Just ecently found at my local grocier

Candy cigarettes- Dollar store sells them

Boo Berry Cereal- released during Halloween

Boo Berry may still be around, the Wal Mart always has that one

Pixie sticks are still around too. My son loves them!

One thing that I don't see any more is Slo Pokes. I used to really love those when I was a kid. I also loved Sidewalk Sundae ice cream bars. Does anyone remember those?

was it called Google?

I liked Funny Face, it was like Kool Aid

and Libby's Fruit Float

does anyone remember the french fries that had vegetables in them, one little pea or a peice of a carrot?

I used to love these tv dinners for kids. They had a little picture on the bottom of the aluminum tray.

Actually, the flavored peanut Butter was called "Koogle" ("K-K-Koogle, with the k-k-koogley eyes..."). They had chocolate, cinnamon, and I forget what other flavors - nasty stuff!

I loved Turkish Taffy. There's a thing called "French Chew" now that's really similar.

I loved PDQ!! I use to put it on ice cream. They had chocolate, strawberry, and eggnog flavors. I wish they'd bring it back.

Anyone remember "Otter Pops?" Sir Isaac Lime, Louie Blue Raspberry, etc. They were freeze pops.

I really miss Tootsie Pop Drops, too.

PDQ Eggnog. I can still find the Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry.

Snyders Yogurt stuffed pretzel nuggets.

Anyone remember when you could get a whole bag of penny candy for a quarter.

Candy lipstick
Flying saucers
Dots
Snaps
Penny gum (my favorite was in the shape of a hotdog but I can't
remember the name0
wax lips
wax bottles with liquid in them
