Foods that were a "hit" and then kind of fizzled.. Remember any of them?

Hi FreshTressa

"""One thing you don't see anymore is candy cigarettes.

They weren't reallly a hit, but you sure don't see them anymore!!""""

I live in Scotland, UK and we still have candy cigarettes.

Pop rocks. But you couldn't mix them with pepsi or your stomach would explode.

Actually the MArathon Bar here was about 8 or 9 inches long & was braided caramel covered in chocolate.....I think that's different than your renamed one. Is your's like our snicker bar now? Chocolate, nuts, caramel & nougat??

Sorry about that - so may names for so many great bars!
Our original Marathon bars were longer than the new Snickers bars that we have.
Yes the Snickers bars over here are chocolate, nuts etc.

The Marathon bar that you are referring to, 8/9 inches long, braided etc - I think - is what is known over here as a Curly Wurly bar and is made by Cadbury's.

I want some Kool Aid Freckle Face Strawberry and some Boo Berry cereal. :)

There is a store just down the road from my house that sells candy cigarettes--ds 13 always gets them. Dr Pepper red fusion still around here too.
C.Ann my oldest ds LOVES cream soda.

Fun thread!!!

calypso & k&a&c: I remember Space Sticks too!! Peanut Butter was my favorite although I remember the chocolate not being too bad. I liked the chewy texture. We use to eat them when skiing for quick energy- before Powerbars!

Jello 1-2-3- that might be the same thing as I remember as 'Shake-a-Pudding' although they might be different- basically you put Jello pudding and milk in a cup with a cover (I think it came with it) and shake it until it was ready.

Marathon Bar- I like the Curly Wurly name!

I used to love quisp cereal as a kid!!!

What about Charleston Chews? I saw them in our small town pharmacy once. I wonder if they still make them.

The kids still love the Pop Rocks.

In Japan we ate 1-2-3 Jello. It was a jello that seperated into three sections. Did you have that here? I haven't seen it again.:D

I remember these:

Tang
Dream Whip
Ovaltine
Cheese Whiz
Peanut Butter and Jelly - mixed in the same jar
Yoo Hoo
Cream Soda

Cream Soda is still a big hit with my dd.:teeth:

I used to love Fizzies and banana Bonomo Turkish Taffy.

Oh I remember Jello 1-2-3... I loved that stuff...

I still buy or see Watchamacalits, Tang, Ovaltine, Cheese Whiz, Cream Soda, Pop Rocks & Nerds all the time here. I guess I am lucky to bea ble to get those :teeth:

Although a funny story... a couple years ago, I was in the grocery store and these kids said "Hey dad, can we get this new drink called Tang?" I started chuckling at the same time as the dad :p

I just found sky bars at a little store in my town. I thought they didn't make them anymore. They were one of my favorites as a kid.
