Fun thread!!!

calypso & k&a&c: I remember Space Sticks too!! Peanut Butter was my favorite although I remember the chocolate not being too bad. I liked the chewy texture. We use to eat them when skiing for quick energy- before Powerbars!

Jello 1-2-3- that might be the same thing as I remember as 'Shake-a-Pudding' although they might be different- basically you put Jello pudding and milk in a cup with a cover (I think it came with it) and shake it until it was ready.

Marathon Bar- I like the Curly Wurly name!

jello 1-2-3 and shake a puddin are 2 different things. I was just thinking of shake a puddin last night, glad someone else remembers it also. :teeth:

Slo poke sounds familiar. What was that?
They were caramel suckers that took forever to eat. Kind of like Sugar Daddys. Oh my, are THOSE still around?

Sugar Daddies and Sugar babies.. I loved those, they do still have them.

I loved Mallo Cups and Skybars too. I still see them occasionally. I also remember the Otter Pops.

Remember the wax candy with the liquid inside? We loved that stuff.

We always had Tang in our house. Remember Jiffy Pop?
Fun thread.

You can't forget Zotz. We use to get them form the ice cream man. They were a long strips of about 5 hard candies and they had fizz on the inside. So good. They came in grape and strawberry.

Lik M Stiks
Now & Laters ("nownlaters")
Whistle Pops
Alexander the Grapes
Chick O Sticks
mary janes
Boston Baked Beans

Faygo Soda Any Flavor
Towne CLub Soda Sasparilla

Oh I had forgotten all about the Marathon Bar. I remember the commercial! Candy bars were a real treat because they sold penny candy and Candy bars were 25 cent. (that's alot of penny candy)

I think they were called Shoestrings? - potato 'chip' sticks

I also remember my grandfather always having a packet of Sen-Sen candies to share with us when we went to church.

Jello pudding pops- Just ecently found at my local grocier

Jasminesmommy,

What grocery store have you found these in?

Yoo Hoo is something I never perceived as a fly by night drink, it has always been and always will be the classic chocolate shake up drink.

Mountain Dew Livewire (orange) was released for last summer, and has now been rereleased for the summer of 04.

Watchamacallits are still available here at 7-11 and Food Lion, the best candy bar on the market....BAR none, sorry had to do it.

SURGE WAS THE BEST, and still is. I go to Fuddrucker's just because they are one of the few places that still has Surge.

YUM!!!

Quisp, marathon bars, space sticks, jello 123. How I miss those!!!!

Anyone remember these tablet things you used to put in your water glass? They would fizz and change the flavor of the water to something? Used to love those as a kid.

Anybody remember "Great Shakes"?

We still have candy cigarettes, In fact I myself eat them all the time.

Zotz fizzies, I love them hoard them from my kids in fact!!! They find the wrappers, And say hey who had these? I have no idea.

I actually had pop rocks this morning. Great at 7am. I got them for the kids easter baskets and stole some.
;)

Do you remember Razzles gum? Love those. The red licorice pipes. and the flying saucers that are filled with little candy beads...Charleston chews, we have all of those.
There is a little general store that sells all penny candy type stuff, and I get all the old stuff there.

Thanks for the Nonnies Candy Link. I just ordered the retro mix for my cousins Birthday. She will love it! She was VERY heavy when she was younger and not allowed candy, (per her doctor) She is now 34 a 100 lbs soaking wet and eats candy constantly!!!!!:p

Tang-I used to make a glass of it, and not stir it up all the way, so that I could slurp the sludge a the bottom of the glass. Does anyone remember grape Tang? Remember the big glass jars it came in?

Bosco-anyone remember Bosco? It was a chocolate syrup that came in the tall dark bottles. Again, I slurped the sludge!!

Charleston Chew- I used to freeze these, yummy!!!

Libby's Fruit Float- one of the very first treats I remember in this life. I think I had either raspberry or strawberry

Zippity-do-das- They were like a primitive juice box. Again, very vague memories of this.

Gold rush bubble gum- in these little bags, cute and yummy

Entenmann's cupcakes- LOL!! My parents got these once, and i got up in the middle of the night and licked all the icing off, and put the cupcakes back!!! I still love their new York Coffee cake!!

Space dust- In my ever so humble opinion, was better than pop rocks.

Whammie sticks- popsickles that were swirled with like grape and lime, orange and lime. orange and grape...you get the idea.
