Counterservice to me is anywhere you order at a counter and take food and sit down to eat. McDonalds would be counterservice. You get a table to eat at.

Tableservice is when you have a wait staff to service your needs, while you are sitting at the table.

Counter service= no backs on your chairs

Table service= backs on your chairs
