Yes, all food is included, all meals, room service,
Castaway Cay, with few exceptions...If you dine at Palo's there is a $10 charge per person, or $15 per person for champgne brunch. Food is not including if you get off the ship and eat on the islands, unless you get an excursion package which may include lunch.
Soda is free too unless you order from the bar. The 15% is automatically add on when you order drinks from the bar. There is a refrig. in all stateroom, but it is not that cold. Guest do bring on their own bottle waters, wine, soda, etc on board. There is no problem bringing soft cooler on board.
Actually the charge for Palo Brunch is only $5 per person. The charge for Palo High Tea is also $5.
But YES, most all food and drink is included. The exception is IF you order alcoholic drinks...those go on your onboard charges and are subject to the 15% automatic tip. The same goes if you order soda in a restaurant that is not on their list...for example is the soda is available in a can then you are charged for it...also coffee at The Cove has a cost. I may have missed something here that has a fee attached...not sure.
On Castaway Cay the same rules apply...alcohol and speciality drinks...for example, DS ordered a smoothie at CC...it in the coconut "glass" cost $7.
Room service is free, but please tip the CM who brings the food as they aren't included in the tips you give at the end of the cruise. Additionally, drinks from room service may have a charge.
The "fridge" in the stateroom...is really a glorified cooler! I put a fruit platter in ours on Sunday and it was still chilled on Friday night. It's not very large and you may not find it unless you open all the doors in the room...ours was located under the counter in the main "seating area", off center. It has two doors so keep looking. It would be fine to keep a few bottles of water cool or whatever you wish...just don't expect it to keep ice cream frozen. lol
The thought to bring coolers...those soft sided ones...are up to the individual...personally I am not fond of schlepping around with a cooler on my back...it's bad enough I get to lug the backpack so everyone has what they need. If you are trying to save a couple bucks, it might be worth it. If not and you really want your own cooler with water while on the beach at CC, then buy the one from
DCL...about $15 for the cooler and 6 bottles of water. Yep, it's a bit pricey, but, hey, you get to keep the cooler as a souvenier. The only time we bought water was when we went to Tulum...a bottle for each of us just in case we got thirsty.
IMO, there are plenty of "free eats and drinks" opportunities that you shouldn't worry. Deck 9 has a drink station where you can get soda, tea, milk, coffee, punch and lemonade if I remember correctly. It is open 24/7 and the walk is nice. I did bring some lemonade back with ice and kept it in the "fridge" for a few hours...it was fine. Also, Deck 9 is home to Pluto's, Pinnochio's, and Scoops where you can get hotdogs, burgers, chicken strips and fries, pizza, ice cream, frozen fruit bars, and fresh fruit at specific times. Just check the navigator when you get onboard for the hours. The frozen fruit bars are awesome...very refreshing! DS (12) frequently walked up top for a snack even at 11pm. Also, there are late night snacks set up at various places onboard...just check the navigator.
If you want snacks while watching the shows in the WD Theater you can buy them as you go in...not too badly priced...$2.75 for a bag of Goofy Gummy Snacks...it'd be about the same at the movie theater at home. Or swing by Deck 9 grab a bite or have room service sent, then head to the theater.
Well, I may have missed something here, but I hope this helps! If you'd like to PM and ask me something go ahead.
