The 'What are you having for Christmas Dinner' thread got me thinking about the things we eat at Christmas but we don't have for the rest of the year.

In our house it's:

Turkey
Sausages wrapped in bacon
Stuffing
Dates
Peanuts
And what I call Christmas choccies - Quality Street, Celebrations and After Eights

What about you? What do you only have at Christmas that you don't eat for the rest of the year?

Certainly not Mince Pies, as there is a bakery close to where I work in Cheadle that sells them and I have been eating them all year. :)
Probably not a good idea as I will be sick of them by the time Christmas comes.

Turkey & Sausage meat are the 2 things that stand out. Don't tend to buy the tins of chocolates anymore as we always have lots of other options in.
Black Forst Gateaux would have been a third but we had some of that from M & S last month - as you can gather we eat our cakes & treats early in our house!
I don't like stuffing as I am an Apple Sauce guy.

Julie would probably say sprouts but the less said about that the better ;), I can't stand 'em.

I think the only thing we tend to buy at Christmas is a few boxes of Quality Street/Roses or Segsations

We don't eat mince pies, Christmas cake or pudding (I'm the only one who likes them, so I don't bother buying them), and we never eat dates or nuts

:santa::santa::santa::santa:

Mine would be cheese and biscuits, we only eat them at Christmas, especially garlic cheese, yum! :thumbsup2

The only day of the year we have chocolate for breakfast.

I also only eat turkey and sausages in bacon on Christmas Day.

Oh and Christmas Day is probably one of the 350 days of the year that I have a drink:lmao:

Brussel sprouts. I don't really like them much, but it's tradition so I have just two!

Great thread Joh :thumbsup2

Christmas is the only time when we eat:
Turkey (DH always wants this at Easter but I fight for Christmas only :thumbsup2).
Sausages wrapped in bacon
Spuds and yorkies cooked with Goose fat.
Christmas choc - Matchmakers (don't do after eights) Quality St etc.
Mince Pies and Christmas Pud.
Mini Cheddars and Twiglets.
That horrible cheese the DH likes with the Cranberries. Think it's Wenslydale Yuck
Marzipan fruits;)
Sprouts.
Stollen.

Think thats it but I'm sure I'll think of more ::yes::

turkey
sprouts &
mince pies-i am itching to go & buy some though & have them with cream, but i am holding out, till christmas day:)

oh I see, posh chocolate! we have to make do with Galaxy up here in the North.
I thought Ghiradelli was the Italian centre-forward. :)

Anyway thought of some more, big tubes of Smarties, Fruit pastilles and Cadbury's buttons.

Turkey
Sausages wrapped in bacon
Sausage & carrot rolls
Jam tarts
