Hi Y'all.
Last time I went to Food & Wine, you could go to the Festival Center and buy a lanyard that had a plastic card on it with snap-off vouchers for a certain number of food items, and this came with a pin.

Does anybody know if they are doing that this year and how much it costs?
Thanks!

Yes, it is being sold as the Tasting Sampler Package. It costs about $62 including tax and includes vouchers for 8 items. (Note that at this cost, to recoup the money you spent on the package in booth items, they need to cost a minimum of about $7.75 apiece, and so far I have not seen any food items that cost more than $7.50.) You do get the lanyard and pin if you place any value on those.

If they now have one that is $109 for 16 (don't know how much that is when tax is added) that brings the per item cost down to about $7 to $7.25.

Most of the food items seem to cost between $5 and $7.

Perfect! That's just what I'm after. Three cheers for the DISboards for instant information. Thanks!

took a look to see if there are enough drinks that cost $8 or more to justify buying one, and I'm going to stick to the 8 voucher one. It's pretty much a rip-off to use one of these packages to purchase mostly food items. If you want to use one for food, get the 16-voucher version (there still aren't a lot of food selections that cost more than $7 so far)

Do all entitlements have to be used in one day or can I spread them out over my vacation?

TIA!

Regarding value, I am actually interested in the pin, so I'm thinking that adds about $10 to the value for me, which would bring the per-item break-even for the $62 version to more like $6.50. (English major -- check my math.) I do l like to have a good drink once in a while, and a number of those cost $9 or more. I think I might just go ahead and do it.

Last year we visited in November, and there was not a pin to be had in the park. I like to keep pins as souvenirs, so this would be a way I could get one even though the loose pins will be sold out by the time I go to the festival.

Another point for the cost/savings ratio is nobody in this thread has been including tax into the single pay as you go items. They all will have tax as well.

The prices posted at the booths include tax. There's no need to add tax to them.

Last year you could use the vouchers anytime between the day the festival began and the day it ended.

If I bought a lanyard could I use all of the vouchers on alcohol and could my husband and I both use it? For example, if we bought the $109 lanyard with 16 vouchers could we each get 8 drinks or are only a certain number allowed for alcohol?

Yes.

It will be allowed for any alcoholic beverage that is not excluded.

there wasn't any name on the vouchers. You could give them to whomever you wished.

Reports are that this year it is accepted for beer flights at Craft Beer, although these have been reduced from four beer samples to three.

Last year the vouchers were not accepted for any beverage flights, or for champagne at the Dessert and Champagne booth. It was accepted for everything else. Should be noted you can use them at the kiosks only - they were not accepted at year-round locations like Block & Hans, Refreshment Port, the Joffreys coffee stands or the African outpost, even if those locations were selling festival-specific items.

Wonderful, thank you.

The one last year also came with a snap-off ticket for a premium reserved seat for the Eat to the Beat concert that night ... I hope they're still doing that!

Exclusions were posted. the following are excluded from voucher use:

Beers over 6 oz
Tasting flights
All champagne
Artist Palette of Wine & Cheese
Kurt Russell GoGi "Tiger" Pinot Noir

Yesterday I had to go to about 6 different locations before I could find one that had the pins in stock that came with the samplers. I finally filled out their "we'll ship the pin to you later" form so I'm hoping I actually get it. I did later find that the festival merchandise shop near Canada still had the pins but the rest were out. Don't know if they will restock soon or not.

Did you happen to take see the pin?

Did you happen to see the pin? I've been searching everywhere for a picture because depending on what the pin looks like if I will get it this or not tomorrow when I arrive.

Yes, I actually bought a second sampler to get the pin. I took a couple pics (sorry about the lighting in my house!) with an Anniversary Button (standard Disney celebrating button) just to give you an idea of the size and opened up the pin for the second pic so you can see it has a translucent cover and is hinged:
