Hello all

Last year we attended Party for the Senses ( our 4th annual visit ), and chose *not* to upgrade to the Wine View Lounge.

We are contemplating springing for the VIP service this year, but wanted to gauge opinions from those who experienced this last year...

Do you get your own table or Do you sit with others?
Did you find the experience worth the extra money??
What were the perks besides the full service bar ?
What was in the goody bag??

I am willing to pay extra, but I am just having a hard time finding $225 per person worth the extra cost for what I find to just be a 'reserved seat' .... looking forward to the feedback!!

I think they have tables for two. Maybe they push them together for larger groups. I had a friend who did the wine view lounge on her own and they put her at a table for two by herself.

I won't do it - I didn't find the party I went to last year to be that crowded and I did not miss having a reserved table. I think the gift was a bottle of the hibiscus flower they served with the special cocktail, plus some other small items. One of the biggest "perks" was the VIP early entrance - you get in before the crowds arrive. I have stopped arriving with the crowd and go in later, not earlier. My new strategy is eat dessert first - the dessert tables are deserted when the party opens and the other tables become deserted later.

You'll hear from others, though, who loved the wine view lounge experience and are quite willing to pay an extra $15 per person for it this year. I personally don't think I need it.

There were just the two of us at our own table for two. Our name was on the table when we arrived.

This was our first F & W and PFTS, so keep that in mind. Plus we did extra things since we were celebrating our 30th anniversary. After everything we had heard about being able to sit, we decided to go for this option. After days at the park, and having a foot problem, I thought this would be better for me to make sure I had a chair. We really enjoyed our experience of the WVL. Our server was terrific. Even though our tip was included with the price, we tipped extra. (We had the same server the next day at a Sweet Sunday event. And he took good care of us again.) We would do the WVL again.

However, there were lots of tables on the main floor that seemed available the night we were there. From what I understand, the PFTS weekly theme wasn't a hit, which might be why they are changing direction of the party for this year. I guess some of the regulars could address this thought? With that in mind, they might be more popular this year and result in fewer tables. Who knows?:confused3

As for perks, there was a full bar, the goodie bags, our servers brought many of the desserts around on a tray, and good service. I can't remember if there was anything else, but it was an enjoyable, relaxing evening.

In the goodie bags were the jars of hibiscus flowers to make the hibiscus wine cocktail at home, champagne stopper, small box of chocolates, and one or two other small things.

This is about all I can remember. Good luck on your choice. I wish we could go again this year. Maybe next year?;)
