Help! I need a definitive answer, regarding the use of the F&W theme gift cards. I was told, they are regular GCs and can be used anywhere/anytime...not just F&W. Also, that they can be reloaded.

Now, I was also told..they are not regular GCs and can only be used at/during F&W.

I wanted to purchase, a few GCs, but to use anytime. The wristbands are very convenient and I just need to know the fine print

TIA!

I bought the gift card today. According to the writing on the back, it says it's a gift card that can be reloaded.

Here's a blurb fom the back 'Card is issued by Disney Gift Card Services, Inc and valid at select participating locations at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Store locations in the US and Disneystore.com. For a list of participating locations please visit disneygiftcard.com'

To me it seems like you can still use it afterwards. Thats why I bought it too. I liked the idea of being able to wear this whenever I go in the parks. Hope this helps.

This is what I understood, but the CM, at the Screen Door, said they could only be used at F&W. A CM at F&W, said they are regular gift cards, just a F&W design.

Unfortunately the CM's aren't really up to speed outside of their areas. Go with what is printed on the back of the card.
They are also available (the F&W card) for a minimum of a $5 load.

They're just like regular Disney gift cards, always have been. It's really just another type of Disney gift card.

CMs have been known to be incorrect before. If you were trying to use it at the Screen Door I would have pushed him/her to try scanning it. If they refused I'd have asked for their manager.

I got mine yesterday and have been using it all around Disney, in shops and restaurants in resorts. So they are just a regular gift card, just little and with a cord so you can wear it around your wrist :thumbsup2

I have reloaded my card at my local Disney Store (although it did take a Mgr to show the CM how to do it). I have used it to buy merchandise not only in hotels but also the Magic Kingdom.

They are like regular gift cards and can be used from year to year.

Can you load them with any amount or only in certain increments? I had a rebate card for $100 that I had intended to use for my F&W purchases...but due to our bank changing their debit card provider we had a couple days without it being available. I had to use my rebate card for a purchase....so now it has an oddball amount on it.

I still have mine from last year, and I've used it various times since then at various locations throughout Walt Disney World. I have also reloaded it at various locations throughout Disney over the last year. A lot of the CMs seem to be confused by it, but it has always worked for me!!!

I have never been told that I have to put a certain amount on it. I have reloaded it with various amounts. Hope this helps!

This is great information since I will be purchasing this very thing next month. Thanks, everyone! :thumbsup2

They are basically like the Gift Cards we sell at the water parks. They are about half the size of a regular Gift Card and have a wrisdtband on them. They can be used anywhere on WDW or at The Disney Store, including Disneyonline.

Minimum of $5.00, maximum is $1,500.00. They can be reloaded. The water park ones have a water park theme, the F&W ones have a F&W theme.

There is no fee for them and they do not expire.

Well, I ended up buying several at the $5 load. I like the convenience of the wristband. However, I was told you can't let them reach $0, or they can't be reloaded. True or false?

I am living proof - they can be reloaded ;)

Originally loaded $100 for the 2008 F&W festival and then realized that was not nearly enough for the week we were staying.

So we went back and added funds with no issue. Then at the end of the festival, we used theremainingg balance that was left on it at the gift shop.

We used ours at F&W, Beach Club Marketplace, and to buy Christmas slippers @ DHS.
You can reload them... although some food booths said they "couldn't."
So we just reloaded at the next stop.

You can load it with any amount over $5. In fact I had a visa rebate card from a purchase that I had trouble using many places but I was able to easily use it to get a gift card and then used that in the kiosks.

They can be loaded (or reloaded) in any amount that is at least $5.00 and the balance cannot go above $1,500.00.

Does anyone know if I can use my Disney Visa Rewards card (not the credit card, the rewards card) to purchase the gift card? I know I can use the rewards card itself in the park, but I like the little wristband thing. I could probably find this on the DVR website, but I'm lazy and I figured someone here could give me an answer faster than I can look it up.

Yes, you can use the Disney Rewards card to transfer funds to a Wrist Band Gift card, or any gift card for that matter. I have done this many times.
