Food & Wine & Friends, or 'Wishing a Year Away'. October 2012 PTR *NEW 11/18 TR link!

How very cool that your friends are moving closer!!

Also :thumbsup2 on the ADR to Via Napoli. I have not been there before, but people are constantly saying how good it is... and of course, as Betsy mentioned... since we are going together... she will have to show me how good it is. So I will be trying it for the first time in September :goodvibes

New reader here!
I can't imagine planning a year out. I mean, I can and probably have for a "maybe"/imaginary trip.

You will have so much fun, as you already know! :goodvibes

I'm going in September for my first solo trip and only my 2nd trip to WDW. A bit nervous but otherwise excited!

But my DSis and DBIL want to go to WDW next year in August, they have invited me along and have appointed me as the designated vacation planner. I gladly accepted. It also helps that my DBIL will be on active duty so we are gonna get killer deals!

I want to get DVC so badly but without a real steady income and other bills to pay (student loans, whoopee:rolleyes: )it ain't gonna happen. Living vicarously!

You had computer issues too??? I'm going crazy with no computer, it's been unusable since Friday and I'm just about losing my patience!!!

I am ready for my trip to be in double digits! I always make a countdown calendar when we get to 99 days! I think we are in the 130's now?

Your day 5 plans look great! I really want to do a tour in november, the Segway one sounds fun I'm just afraid I'd fall!

I am at 107  ! One week till I can make a countdown.

It would be really hard to fall off a Segway. When we tried it for 5 seconds at Innoventions, the hardest part is making it go. But once you get it, it's easy!

Yay for Hilde and Sebastian moving so close to you!!! :goodvibes

Via Napoli sounds like a great ADR choice for you guys! I always hear such great things about it!

I have never read a bad thing about it. This is a place I didn't think we'd ever try cause when it first opened DH and I stopped to read the menu and pretty much fainted at the prices. But now that I know it is good, and that we could share a pizza, it seems much more reasonable- though Ben is still skeptical.

Via Napoli was soooo good in january! We liked our food and "view" :rotfl: so much I had to change our last meal of the trip to going back there. I have another reservation for there on the trip with Ann.:thumbsup2

I am really glad I was able to fit in a meal here! Everyone raves about it!

We ate at Via Napoli the other week and even though I don't want to spoil my TR (if I ever get it started!) I will tell you that it was AH-MAZ-ING!! You won't be sorry for eating there! :goodvibes

I'm very hungry right now and would LOVE to be eating there at this moment. I am so looking forward to it!

I have both a reservation for Via Nappoli and Le Cellier based on reviews... unfortunately one needs to be canceled and I can't decide which!! I'm actually starting to think I need to cancel a few other ADR's to make more room for F&W snacking!! However I will wait till menu's and the events for F&W are out to make any more changed to my ADR's... I'm hoping we hear more about F&W soon!!!

The rest of your plans sound great. I think the Segway tour sounds awesome.. the weight limit is a bummer for us though so we won't be able to do it...

I've never been to any of the Disney Waterparks... I guess I should go read some reviews of them and see if its something we might want to do...

We're not doing any F&W events, just snacking at the booths. I have a few meals planned for that, but I agree- we might want more time to snack! But there are SO many places I want to eat, it is too hard to decide!

We are thrilled to have them closer!

I am sure you'll love Via Napoli as much as everyone else seems to!

Hello!!!!!
I planned my first adult trip for over a year- it was the only thing that kept me sane that year :rotfl:
But more recently, it's been more like 6 months between the idea and the trip. This one, though- it's been an epic journey! To be 3.5 months out is surreal!

Please take lots of segway tour pictures. I get a kick out of people on segways for some reason LOL.

I made a dinner res at Via Napoli not too long ago. A client of mine gave a rave review of it and sold me.

Have fun at Lake Compounce!

Great ADR choice, in my opinion. I absolutely love Via Napoli now and seriously crave their Tiramisu.

I think the Segway tour looks like a lot of fun, so I'm curious to hear how it goes.

I am experiencing the same dilemma right now. I booked a dinner or lunch everyday...but now that I have a ONE bedroom BWV booked I might just do ONE BIG dinner for our week @ WDW and save my CA$H for snacks.

decisions....decisions...

I am glad you made an ADR for al four of you!

BTW... Avenue Q is the best! I love that show. You will have to tell me how it is. Changing my iPod music to the soundtrack right now! =)

The main reason we are going to WDW is for the food (and for me to get my Parks fix but hubby could care less about the parks) so therefor lots of restaurants shall be dined at! I don't think I could choose just one dinner?!? :confused3 Heck, I'm having trouble fitting everything and I have 2 weeks!

Lake Compounce was fun! Though our weekend got switched around some and we spent most of Saturday at Thomas Hooker Brewery (an awesome brwery tour, BTW!) and went to the park on Sunday. We ended up getting rained out at the end, but had plenty of fun before that!

I am sure Ben and I will get some sweeeet Segway pictures!

Avenue Q was fantastic! We saw it at a small theater in Boston, so we got to be right up close to everything- and they did SUCH a great job... I had a blast!

Mmm Via Napoli! We also had a wonderful meal there! The Segways are going to be SO fun. It's one of the best things we did in 2007, though we did enjoy doing the early morning onebefore EPCOT was open. But we're early birds tho! :goodvibes

An early bird is something I am not! I can get up early for Disney, but if I don't have to- it's way better!!

I just switched the Via Napoli ressie to be an early lunch for just DH and I- our friends don't mind missing it, and this way I know Ben nad I won't get pulled away for an afternoon break and miss lunch!

Happy almost 4th of July, party people! I don't get any kind of a Holiday weekend, since animals still need to eat and poop even if our country is celebrating its independence :rotfl:
I have had a run of weekends off the past few weeks, so I am not complaining... actually, I probably am complaining. But only a little. ;)

Our weekend in CT with Hilde & Sebastian was a lot of fun- we toured the Thomas Hooker Brewery (lots of good times- lots of beer samples :thumbsup2 ) and went to Lake Compounce to ride some roller coasters. It was great- super hot, but hardly any lines. A big ol' rain storm drove us out a little earlier than we meant to leave, but it meant we got home at a reasonable hour.
The four of us shared a hotel room and did just fine, so it was good practice for October. With just one bathroom, we may have to come up with some sort of a schedule, though!

We decided to change that Via Napoli ADR to be right after the Segway tour. Hilde & Sebastian figure they'll stay at Blizzard Beach past lunch time (we did warn them about the food there!), so the new ADR is for just Ben and I. This way, we can eat delicious food, then still have time to head back to BLT for a break and laundry time.

Day 6: Thursday, 10/18
This is a day I am really looking forward to! We're going to take a cab to AKL for breakfast at Boma. I've had dinner here, but never breakfast and really looking forward to it!

From here, we'll probably take a bus to AK, then head to the Carribean Beach Resort to visit and prehaps give some money to the pool bar there :cool2: The plan for the day is to visit some resorts on a kind of bar crawl. The Yacht Club's Crew Cup Lounge is on the list, too. We won't have a car, so we'll obviously have to get creative as far as using parks to transfer from place to place. There's no real agenda, and no prize for visiting the most places, so I'm not too stressed about it. If we get annoyed by trying to get to different resorts, we might just head back to BLT to relax.

At some point, we will head to DHS for a dinner ADR at Mama Melrose (a first for all of us). I'm never at this park at night, so I am looking forward to spending a little time here after dinner- mostly just some Tower of Terror till we can't take it any more!

DHS is really nice at night! We have had really good luck w/ going on RNRC over and over at night. I don't do ToT but dh has managed to ride a few times in a row pretty quickly!

The best (i.e.: least amount of walking!) transportation method I can think of to get from the monorail resorts to the Epcot resort area is to take a bus from any of them to DHS, then Friendship boat to the resorts. There's always walking through Epcot, but that gets a little tiresome (although you could always detour to World Showcase for a stop on your bar crawl!)

We're no longer stay out really late and get up for rope drop people. As much as I want to be, it just can't happen every day anymore. Then again, I'm having the hardest time planning my November trip, because that's the way I've been planning for years, it's kind of aggravating! :rotfl:

it's that way for us now too. Much more relaxed, I'm starting to embrace and enjoy the change but it was weird when it started!

I think we'll just camp out in this part of the park and have a blast!!

This is very good advice! I will group our stops so we have to do less transferring!

I have to follow you two and get more relaxed in how we tour!
