Food & Wine Festival Strategies.....What are your must eat's / drinks???

Does anyone know how much this Inniskillin (ice wine) goes for a bottle?
Do you buy it in the Candaian pavillion?
A close friend is a wine lover, and I would love to pick up a bottle as a Christmas gift while I am there next week!

We're from Ontario (where the Inniskillin vineyards are). From our tour, they wait until first frost then they hussle to harvest the frozen grape and get about two drops from each grape (thus the expense).
Bottles of Icewine here in Canada sell anywhere from $50 to $500 per bottle depending on the vintage.

They are definately a "special treat" dessert wine-bottles are smaller than regular wine bottles but then you only drink about 2 oz at a time-extremely sweet! Not for a dry wine drinker.

and they sell this wine at disney as a sample? How much is the sample?

Last year at F & W a 'sample' of Inniskillin was $4.

MY DH bought a double pour the first time at the booth last year. He'd already tried it the year before......

Thanks for the answers re: ice wine. I like drier wines, so it's probably not for me, but I still may sample it at the Festival.

DH and I will be staying at the Dolphin tomorrow and Saturday night, then returning at the end of October for 3 nights at Pop Century. We've never stayed at either hotel so that will be another fun part of our vacation (in addition to attending the Food and Wine Festival!).

I have never had the ice wine from the F&W, but I have ordered it from LeCellier. It was a wonderful after dinner drink instead of dessert! Yum!

I am soooooo exicted. My DH came home last night and said lets go to WDW. So I got on the phone a booked at POP Century and we are leaving MOnday Morning. I get to go to the F&W Festival again. Did not think we were going to beable to go this year as we have a ressi for the beginning of Dec. I am so excited, so much to do before we leave. I can't wait to get to eat all of that food again. Been there before and love it and really wanted to do it again.

Also excited about getting to see the new pop century. we are DVC members so we usually stay at DVC hotels, but I had really wanted to see POP as one of my quests is to stay at least one night at every hotel on WDW property. Just loo9k to see who would be there when we are and Kool and the Gang are. Happy about that too. I guess I am just happy about everything.

He said since we have gone through so many hurricane in the last six weeks, we needed the break. Needless to say I agree.


So my COUNTDOWN IS ONLY 2 DAYS.

WOW! The items offered at the Food And Wine Festival look fantastic. This will be our first time.

Is there any time of day that won't be super ?

We leave a week from today and I just read there is going to be a marathon race the next day. Plus the Food and Wine Festival.

We have brought bottles home each year for the last 5 years! Trips split between NWA and Airtrans. Sometimes we put bottles in our carry-on and sometimes in our checked baggage. Just remember to double bag the bottle with ziplocks just in case!

My DH and I hit the F&WF this weekend. It was kind of crowded Saturday night, but not bad on Sunday. However, it was hot on Sunday, and it's hard to be hungry when you're sweating!

Anyway, we were disappointed that Japan no longer has the tuna tar tar, Germany doesn't have ribs, and Spain isn't offering sangria. There were some awesome new additions though - the chocolate bonet was to die for, just like the flourless cake that I fell in love with last year - also the ham and cheese crepe at France, and white chocolate tartlet in FL. Also, they kept some of our old favorites like the spanikopita in Greece, maple salmon in Canada, and mango mousse in China. We didn't have time for any wine tastings this weekend, but we'll certainly be going back. The "wine walkabout" in Australia especially looks fun!

Bottom line: Another great F&WF this year!

DH and I had a wonderful time at the F & W Fest this past weekend. On Friday, we were so hungry by the time we got to Epcot (5 PM) that we ate dinner at the Rose and Crown and were too stuffed to eat another bite all evening (although DH did have a couple more glasses of beer--I just had the one glass at the Rose and Crown).

On Sunday, I sampled the vegetable couscous at Morocco and the vegetarian curry at an Indian stand, plus I sampled a glass of Moroccon white wine (very light and dry but with a fruity finish--tasty!) and Iron Horse Fairy Tale cuvee (a sparkling white wine that I chose for the great name, and found it had a great taste too!). DH sampled several beers of the world but wasn't hungry enough to try any food samples.

We will be back for 3 days at the end of the month--I want to try wines from some of the more exotic countries (rather than Germany, Italy, France, Australia, etc).

We also want to see Three Dog Night (very nostalgic band from our high school years!) and check out The Adventurer's Club at Pleasure Island for the first time. We missed Off Kilter on this trip (wild band from Canada that plays New Wave-ish 80s type stuff, but with comedy, bagpipes, and kilts!) and hope to see them at the end of the month, plus we ALWAYS have to see The British Invasion.
