Food & Wine Festival @ EPCOT & Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party???

We are planning a trip for end of October/beginning of November 2006. This is a good thread as I was starting to look for info about both the Food and Wine Festival and the MNSSHP. We have 2 children, 3 and 5 and both really enjoy Epcot. They especially love going to each country to make/color their masks! When DS, 5 hears about trick or treating in MK this will become his favorite time of year to go!! :Pinkbounc

Our Halloween with Mickey!

This is our trip report for our halloween trip. It has some pictures also.
October is a great time to go! It was great!
How was the weather the whole time you were there? Like I said, I've always gone the 1st week of Dec for the holidays. So this would be my first trip in Oct. I like to swim, so I was wondering what the temperature was like. I know the temperature this year won't be guarantee for next year, but at least I'll have an idea. This trip to the world (12/2-12/10), it was low to mid 70's in the day and high 50's to low 60's at night. I went swimming in the resort pool only once, and we went to Typhoon Lagoon for the 1st time, again only once, and enjoyed swimming with the sharks and stingrays at Shark Reef, but would enjoyed it a whole lot better if it was warmer. Thanks again for sharing your trip and pics, they were awesome and great costumes.

We are like you-always go 1st week of Dec but are going to try Oct for 2006. We plan to do both the F&W festival and the MNSSHP. We always do the Christmas party, so I'm sure we will like the Halloween one. F&W seems like a given, there's food, there's wine. What's not to like? I'm slightly more concerned about the heat. Many people we know have gone in Oct and said it was hot and really humid. I'm sure it's nothing like summer in Flordia, but what is? I'm from the north-east and I hate the summers up here. We booked BWV for the end of the month, so I hope it's not too bad. We do plan to do a water park day. My boys begged for Typhoon Lagoon when we were down there 2 weeks ago, but I thought it was too cold or had plans for that particular day. So, they'll be happy. :)

It was quite warm this Oct. I seemed to feel it more than before but I also found out I was pregnant a couple days after we got back so that might have had something to do with it.

I think it was probably mid to high 80s in the afternoons and mid 70s at night. Gorgeous weather every day we were there Oct 14-21.

Thanks for the weather report and congrats on your pregnancy!!!!

We were there the first week of October. We had a tropical depression spinning above us all week. We managed to stay dry and always carried ponchos. The night that we went to MNSSHP was very humid but it did not rain out. I don't think this is the norm.

We are going 10/15-10/21. I am so glad that I am not the only one thinking this far in advance. It doesn't really seem like that far away to me.

We live in a seasonal town so summer for us is our busiest time of year and we don't get to do very much. So from May-September time will fly. January-April are spent getting ready for summer so the next 10 months will be here before I know it.

I am so excited! I just wish that I could talk dh into staying for more days!

You're welcome. We thought it was great weather. Still nice and warm but not unbearable like July. We are contemplating going in Oct 06 with our 3 month old but we'll see.

I'm going to try to go the actual week of Halloween 2006. I really want to try to get into BCV or BWV, if not, then my home resort, OKW. I'm going to try everyone's advise and do the whole "dialing derby" thing and book it one night at a time as opposed to booking the whole week at once. I understand BCV and BWV are difficult to get at that time of year because of the Food & Wine Festival and the close proximity of these resorts to Epcot. We'll see what happens.
