Over on the resturaunt board, they reported that the culinary demonstrations, which used to be free but are $8 each this year are going to be available for pre-booking by TIW members, AP holders, and also DVC members for $5. Supposedly, they were given this information by the TIW CMs, that the discount would also apply to AP holders and DVC members, but that the information hadn't been Emailed yet. Has anyone else heard this? It would be great if it were true, but I haven't seen anything on the members' website about it.

I got the email from TIW on the discounts but nothing was said about DVC or AP holders.

I just booked 2 wine and food events, and a wine tasting for our F & W weekend. I used my DVC membership number and paid with a credit card. I have a printout with my reservations. The link is

Thanks so much! I just preregistered for 4 culinary demonstrations at the F&W festival. It kind of annoys me that DVC didn't alert members that the discounted preregistration is available, though and I had to read it here. I especially wanted the chocolate one on 10/18, so I'm very glad I was able to get that at a discounted price. The only problem is that my printer screwed up, so I don't have the confirmations. Hopefully, I can figure that out. But thanks for verifying that there is the DVC discount and preregistration option.

Just booked a demo with the discount this morning. You should have gotten an email confirmation as well.

Hi All,

DVC did email me a news alert that as members we could get a discount. Look in your mailbox it might be there now. I am pleased that they let us members have this discount along with passholders and tables in wonderland members. I actually accessed the discount page this morning at 9 a.m. thru an email from tables in wonderland and found out about the DVC discount.

I got the email from TIW. When I signed up was when I found DVC, AP and TIW cards work for the discounted price. Just got an email from DVC about 1 hour ago.

I went home to run on my treadmill at lunch and opened my e-mail while icing my knees. There were two - one for Annual Pass Holders and one for DVC members regarding the pre-registration and discounted tickets. Now I checked my e-mail before I left for work this morning and there was nothing.

I had gotten an e-mail from TIW on Monday with the link. It was nice to actually have time to review and discuss our options before the tickets went on sale. :) We have a large group going to the Food & Wine Festival this October and it would have been very difficult to arrange everything had we not been given advanced notice.

Kudos to the TIW folks!! :yay:
Shame on the DVC and Annual Passholder folks. :sad2:

Thank you for posting !!:goodvibes

I was sooo looking forward to the presentations, but now this!! I would have to cross check these events with our ADR's and I am not in the mood. In the past, we would just drop-in to whatever seminar had openings. I also dont want to miss the concerts so another thing to plan around.

I really do not want to be locked in and invest in these before I even get there. Our Adult only trips are very relaxed and I want to keep it that way.:wizard:

I was able to use the DVC discount for the Race for the Taste ($5 off) so that was nice. We may just skip the seminars this year if we cant walk up.

The only one I would have been interested in is the one with the Cake Boss - only there is no preregistration for him.
