I'm thinking of doing a round the world food tour at Epcot. I thought it would be fun for my dh and ds and I to split a food item or snack at every country. Has anyone ever seen a plan for this? Any suggestions appreciated.

My friends and I do this and last year we even started including a drink at every location. Our plan is to start a Mexico and get something to share at the CS outside(La Cantina de San Angel. Usually nachos. Then we go to Norway for pastries to share at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe, then onto China where we get some pot stickers at Lotus Blossom Cafe (one year when it was really hot we went to the Nine Dragons and shared 2 appetizers off the menu. Outpost we get a drink from the African outpost. Next stop Germany, for a pretzel and beer at Sommerfest and then get something sweet at Karamell-Kuche (OMG such good caramel there. At Italy we always ALWAYS get a Marghertita pizza at Via Napoli. With full bellys we stop at American Adventure to take in the show and build up an appetite for dessert, we get a funnel cake at the Kiosk there. In Japan we go to another TS, Tokyo Dining and share a couple of sushi rolls. I also get a miso soup to settle my stomach. In Morocco, we usually share a piece of baklava and I also get the refreshing mint tea they have. In France at Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles it is time for second dessert and we share a pastry there. By the time we get to United Kingdom we are usually super stuffed and it is getting late in the evening. But we still share a fish and chips at Yorkshire County Fish Shop. In Canada we allow ourselves a pass and just buy some snack from the shop there. A maple sugar treat or tomato potato chips.

SECRET TO OUR SUCCESS: Buy one thing at each location, a snack or appetizer and share. So you will be having maybe one or two bits of something at the majority of the locations. They only place we get a proper meal is at Via Napoli because, DID I mention the PIZZA there is DELIZIOSO.

Adding the drinks last year was interesting. Again sharing is a must with that, at least for me since I am such a light weight drinker.

DS, DIL and I do this every time we go. One day we do a snack around the world, usually buying two snacks at each location and all three sharing (did the same thing and F&G). Another day we do beer around the world, again same thing except usually we will just buy one beer at each location and share, if we find one that someone just loves, that person will just buy his/her own. Another day we do wine around the world, we do a tasting in German (get 3 or 4 I can't remember) and share, we go to the tasting bar in Italy, again I can't remember how many you get but we share, get a tasting in France (you only get one but it's a big pour so we usually pick two to taste) do one in Japan (DS does a saki, I do plum wine). Next day do an alcohol tasting around the world, again sharing until we end up in Mexico where we to go the "to kill you" bar and sit down and drink and snack (if you are lucky enough to get a table). Sounds like we are alcoholics but honestly sharing everything doesn't give you too much and we always take a break as we work our way around.

We love to snack a lot in the WS, but when we made a proper plan to cover the whole thing, I did a fair bit of studying of quick service/cart menus before we went, just so I'd have a pretty good idea of what I was looking for. We didn't stick with the "plan" at every country if something else caught our eye, but as noted above, the key to survival is sharing.

My daughter and I are planning on doing this soon, but have not yet! We both agree that after spending the early part of the day snacking throughout most of the world, we are going to end by eating a nice dinner at Le Cellier (we may still be stuffed, but we are going to try anyway!) As far as snacks through out the world, we're thinking chips and guac in Mexico, eggs rolls in China, sushi in Japan, other than that, we'll see what we're in the mood for in the remaining countries. It'll be gloriously gluttonous. Have fun!

My DH and I are doing that this year! For fear of being too stuffed all at once, we are breaking World Showcase into two days, and we are sharing everything. Here is our plan...

Epcot Day 1
Canada: Specialty popcorn (not that it's really Canadian... we may skip this one)
UK: Shortbread cookies to go (they're pre-packaged anyway)
France: Les Halles Boulangerie (eating a meal here: lobster bisque, Poulet au Pistou sandwich, take to go: bacon and cheese roll, half baguette, maybe a breakfast-y pastry like frangipane)
Morocco: Baklava
America: We are skipping this one - we can get funnel cakes pretty easily where we are from

Epcot Day 2
Italy: Pizza at Via Napoli (we always do half and half Quatro Formaggio and Pepperoni)
Japan: Kakigori (flavored shaved ice) while we watch the Taiko drummers
Germany: Treats from Karamell-Kuche, maybe apple strudel
China: Red Bean ice cream
Norway: We may skip this one as we did Kringla Og Kafe last year and were not impressed with the School Bread or sweet pretzel we tried
Mexico: Churros or a margarita from La Cava de Tequila

Put the Nudel Gratin in Germany on your list. It was really good! I also really liked the Cheese Tartine in France. My daughter had the quiche lorraine, and it was amazing.

We're going during Food & Wine - it's going to be tough to narrow it to one shareable snack per cart/country.

Very tough. Try as we might, we've never been able to make it all the way around the World Showcase during Food and Wine. We get full too fast!

Whatever plan you decide on, add the pot stickers from the Lotus Blossom Cafe. Can easily be shared. That is my snack at Epcot every trip.

We did this but broke it up into 3 evenings. Our favorites were the egg rolls in China, the fish and chips in the UK, Grand Marnier slushes in France, and the crepes in France.

We have never seen any plan, but I think what is important is your approach. As others have stated, buy an item or two based upon the size of your group and share. This is the way you can get around the World Showcase and sample items from each country. Use the snack carts, bakeries, CS or even their stores that sell food items from the country. The store in Japan for example has a big collection of candy which might appeals to the kids in your group. A little here and little there. By sharing you will find some people in your group likes an item while someone else after a bite might say that's enough. By sharing balance through the likes and dislikes.
