When visiting a restaurant for a sit down meal and set menu, are you obligated to have 5 dinners? I mean could my kids (teenagers ) get a meal between them or just an appetiser each? How does that work? Thanks

Not sure what you mean by "set menu" At any TS restaurant with a menu you can order how ever many meals, appetizers, etc. that you want. Even if you are on the DDP. The only place you have to pay for each person is at a buffet for anyone 3 or older. If you have 5 people on the DDP you don't have to order 5 meals.

My DM, DD10, and myself have shared many meals at WDW. Both at TS and CS. Even at signature restaurants. Basically, we eat at WDW the same way we do at home. We share meals, especially if we are having dessert.

Yes you can share the meals or order appys for your entree.

If you are on the DDP we still do this without issue at CS, at TS we get our own though.

We do a lot of sharing at WDW! We have two pre-teen boys and a pre-schooler, and I routinely share with one of the boys, or they share with each other. If I'm not sharing with them, I usually order a salad and appetizer - otherwise, it's way too much food.

Besides buffets, the other places you need to either pay or use a dining credit for everyone are the family style restaurants, like Garden Grill, Liberty Tree or Ohana. These are not buffets, but they bring family style meals to the table for everyone to share, and charge based on the age of each guest in your party.

if you're all on the dining plan, they don't care if you share even when you're using the ddp. The rules about not sharing dining plan is not sharing with people who are not on the plan (specifically, can't buy meals for others with your credits.)

It's perfectly acceptable for two people on the dining plan to get one meal, using one credit for it. Most restaurants will even bring out a second plate or split it & pre-plate on 2 separate plates for you. Just let the server know what you're doing. If you order a second beverage, though (like both teens want a soda) you'll have to pay for one of the drinks since only one drink comes with.

Oh well thats good then Thank you. We are not on the dining plan. So places like Kona and Whispering Canyon we could share then?

Yes, you can share without a problem. Except if you get the bottomless skillet at Whispering Canyon. They price that as an all you can eat meal. They charge each person who shares it.

So if I have 2 aduts and one child on ddp, I can share an adult and child ts meals at tokyo dinning, sanna and kona cafe, right? what about akerakus at epson? is it a buffet or does one order entree? I worry that my mom might not like norwegian foods and 3 ts meals might be too much for us. thanks

Akerhuas is consiidered a preplated all you can eat meal. There is a small buffet- it is a set price per person so everyone has to pay and have their own meal- or at least everyone has to pay i suppose you could refuse the meal as long as you paid for it.
