OK here we go. DH and I finally celebrated our honeymoon. We have been married 7 &1/2 years, never took a honeymoon because 3 days before our wedding he got a pink slip from work and we had to live off our savings and honeymoon fund for quite a while. Took us a bit of time to build back up and feel safe enough to have our honeymoon. :cloud9:

We spent 7 days and 6 nights at POP (love that resort). And we ate at the following:
Ohana, Chef Mickey's, Boma, Le Cellier, Whispering Canyon, Crystal Palace, along with Peco's Bills, Cosmic Rays, Sci Fi, POP's food court, Restaurantasaurus, Sunshine Seasons, Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck's express.

Earl of Sandwich was our first lunch. I had the beef and cheddar and DH had the Italian. Both were good but I found DH's to be better than mine. We did find that the bread was a bit harder than normal but still good.

Ohana was that night's dinner. We loved Ohana last time and while the food was good the atmosphere was chaotic. So much noise and confusion, not to mention the slowest service of all the places we ate at, we won't be going back. Our server was overwhelmed and a bit rude. DH did say something on our way out and they gave us lais and apologized. We did say that the food was good just too loud and crazy for us. (this says something because we don't mind loud places...lol) :rotfl2:

Peco's Bills was our next lunch. It was very good. I had the burger, DH the Taco Salad. His again was better than mine (he shared). Love the toppings bar though. We went at 12:00 and it was packed, they were not doing the new sitting thing. But we didn't have a problem with finding a seat. The stools weren't to uncomfortable, at least they are padded. :rolleyes1

Chef Mickey's is up next for dinner. LOVE this place!!! The food was great, we were seated 30 mins ahead of our adr. The server was nice as well. I love the strip loin and the mashed potatoes!! Mmmm mmmm, that meal was good.

Restaurantasaurus was our lunch next. It was good, I had the hot dog and DH the double burger.
My hot dog was good, guess I don't mind the new ones. I also found the buns to be ok. Again the toppings bar was so good.

Boma was this night's dinner. I can't say I was overwhelmed with it. It was a pain getting back from this resort and we didn't care for the style of food that much to withstand another trip over there. While everything was good, it just didn't fit our tastebuds. The sweetness of all the dishes was a bit over powering for me. We also had slow service this night as well. But DH asked what was in the spicey mustard sauce and our server printed out the ingredients, that was nice. Oh well, I tried it and didn't enjoy it that much, it was "just ok".

Sunshine Seasons for lunch day 4. We both had the asian meal. The beef dish, can't remember the name. It was good, not as good as I remembered and then strawberry shortcake for dessert. Mmmm, now that was good! Not sure about this meal, because both of us got very sick a couple hours afterwards and spent the rest of the afternoon in bed/bathroom.
However we did venture out for dinner because I wasn't missing......

Le Cellier!!! Ok, now this was a fantastic meal. We were seated over and hour ahead of our adr! (I found this to be the case everywhere we went). DH had the coffee rubbed strip and I the prime rib, even though our server kept trying to shove the filet down my throat. She even said that the prime wasn't that good. Well, her and I have different tastes because I love it!! And the cream cheese mashed potatoes....oh heavn on a plate!!
For dessert I had the whiskey cake, didn't really like that and DH had creme brulee which was to over done and hard.
But we will return to the place....we are meat eaters and it passed the test.

I will stop for now, it is a long post and my fingers are getting tired. Not to mention remembering the good food has now made me hungry and I need a snack!! :rotfl2:

More to come......

I'm glad you got your belated honeymoon! And what a great place to have it too! :thumbsup2

I love Le Cellier! YUMMY!

Thank you.

To continue my report:

Thursday we had Cosmic Rays for lunch. DH had the double burger (again), I had the cheesesteak. Both were good, the toppings bar really comes in handy to "specialize" your meal.

That night we had Whispering Canyon Cafe. It was fabulous!!! This restaurant really went beyond expectation. The server was great, in fact I have a whole other thread dedicated to it "kudos to WCC". So I won't go into much here.

The next afternoon was Sci Fi for lunch. Loved the atmosphere and the food was good, not wonderful. But on par with a chain place like Applebees or such. DH got the burger (do you see a trend with him) and I got the chicken sandwich. The onion rings were very good, but since this was OOP we didn't splurge on dessert or a shake.

My favorite is next.....Crystal Palace. I love this restaurant. Not only is it handy but good to. The wait staff always tends to be slow but I love the characters, the atmosphere and the place itself....so cute!!!

Our last meal was Sat. afternoon, Wolfgang Pucks express........WOW is all I say. It was terrific. Such a deal on the DDP and the food.......absoluetly great!! DH had the sausage pizza (I stole a piece and it was great). I had the spagghetti with tomato and basil, that too was wonderful. We will definitely go back there.

Well that concludes the review. Sorry there were no pictures, I did take a couple but they didn't turn out so well.

If you have any questions I would be happy to reply. :)

ty for your reviews! We had a similar experience at 'Ohana's. :sad2: I'm really looking forward to trying Le Cellier for the first time!

Congrats to you and DH! Glad you finally got to go on your honeymoon! DH and I did a mini-moon just to MD. One of these days we will get our Caribbean getaway. (It's only been 12 years :lmao:)

Thanks, hope you get your get away soon!

I have to say I was surprised by some of the new places we tried. Like Chef Mickey's, everyone slams it but we enjoyed it. The food was fresh, tasty and overall a pleasent experience. Minnie was a hoot, whoever was doing her had it down.

The Ohana dinner was just a mess. The food was good, but the overall experience of slow service and loudness was to much to return. I understand that the "announcer, entertainer guy" is there to enhance the dinner, but when you have to scream at the person next to you to have a conversation, they have his mike up to loud. It was more of a disturbance than fun.

It amazes me that it isn't always just the food that makes a place bad or good. The atmosphere, your server and your mood play alot into what kind of meal you will experience.

Shame about Ohana, we love it there :confused3

You know we loved it too last time, that is why we booked it again. And the food as I said was very good......just the overwhelming noise took it to an uncomfortable level. And believe me it isn't like we had quiet dinners....we had CM, WCC, CP.....those are loud too, but Ohana man I couldn't hear myself think.
